Elton John. Michael Jackson. U2. Tenacious D.
Movies... well, I'm a bit of a fiend for them. I employ a kind of karmic reward system when I go to the cinema - by watching the credits, right to the end, every time I see a film for the first time, I give something back to all the crew that made it. All those people can rest peacefully knowing that someone has seen their name and knows what job they did. This system has ensured that I haven't paid to see a bad film for several years :) In no paticular order: Raising Arizona, Scarface,Trains Planes and Automobiles, Best in Show, Vanilla Sky, Magnolia, Office Space, Garden State, Young Frankenstein, Sicko, Before Sunset, Big Fish, The Notebook, A Christmas Story, Total REcall, Sling Blade, The Lion King, Shrek, Mystic River, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lucky Number Slevin, all Indiana Jones, Crash, Seven, Shaun of the Dead, Eternal Sunshine, Memento, Taxi Driver, Casino, It's a Wonderful Life, Shawshank, Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, American Beauty, Glory, Trainspotting, Hairspray, Jesus Christ Superstar, 12 Monkeys, Cape Fear, To Kill A Mockingbird, Requiem for a Dream, REgarding Henry, Saving Private Ryan, Sin City, Forrest Gump, Amadeus, Kill Bill 1&2, Schindlers List, Life is Beautiful, Coffee and Cigarettes, Fargo, Incredibles, Sixth Sense, The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, Ground Hog Day, The Big Lebowski, Cars, Goonies, The Wedding Singer, SuperTroopers, Monsters Inc., Moulin Rouge....

*I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.********************************She held her grief behind her eyes like an ocean & when she leaned forward into the day it spilled onto the floor & she wiped at it quickly with her foot & pretended no one had seen.***************************************************Anyo ne can slay a dragon, he told me, but try waking up every morning & loving the world all over again. That's what takes a real hero.************************************ *I held him close for only a short time, but after he was gone, I'd see his smile on the face of a perfect stranger & I knew he would be there with me all the rest of my days.******************************************************* Maybe I don't want a Happy New Year, he said. Maybe I want an intense New Year with a lot of growth experiences & I had to admit I'd never thought of that.**************** *When I first met him, I knew in a moment I would have to spend the next few days re-arranging my mind so there'd be room for him to stay.***************************************I'm not sure if he's gone, she said, but his body is & that's the part I'm getting used to.*********************** *Can I count on you to be there, no matter what? she said & I said no & she said what kind of friend are you? & I said the kind who won't lie to you any time you want & I think she kept me around as a curiosity after that.*********I don't want anything from you, I said, unless you want me to want something from you & he smiled & said, I knew you were in one of those moods.*****************************I've always thought death was a lot like Christmas, I can't wait to find out if being good the whole time was worth it.***************************************************He just sat in the church looking up at nothing in particular & I whispered what are you doing? & he said if Jesus had been a chicken would we have Weber grills all over the place instead of crosses? & I had a hard time concentrating after that, too.*****************************The feel of my spirit was too old for most people to understand & when I walked by they would look up & say oh, the sun went behind a cloud, or, the moon must be full & so I walked for a long time by myself with no one to talk to.********************************************************
YOU.
