I am a professional hairstylist with 4 years experience. After graduating from Greenwood Academy of Hair in 2005, I became an independent contractor at Bridge Blond Salon where I spent 2.5 years learning the business and building a clientelle. In June 2008 I joined the team at Mode Organic Salon in Downtown Seattle. I have continued my education there, taking presicion cutting classes with Joe Carling, Co-Owner of Mode, and high fashion stlying classes with Kevin Murphy, World Renowned Session Stylist, and his educators. In January of 2009 I will become a CHI Ionic Color educator and will be sharing my knowledge and experience of the line with CHI salons in Washington State.
While working at Mode I have had the opportunity to work on several local fashion shows and style for a Sound Magazine photo shoot (November 2008). I have worked with local dance companies and photographers and I love the challenge of creating a look that completes the movement or statement of a piece.
People are fascinating and beautiful creatures; at once vulnerable and strong, fragile and fierce, humans are crooked masterpieces. Hair is the medium I use, very much like sculpture, to make an ordinary person look extraordinary.
