Greetings from South West England...

About Me

Here in Westfield, we like pop songs bearing the spirit of punk and the warmth of soul. We also like the DIY ethic and vinyl records.
Formed in 2006, we write about issues close to our hearts - mostly true stories. But don't worry all you romantics out there - we'll always throw in the odd slushy number for good measure! We aren't hip scenesters - we just aim to make the kind of music we like.
Many thanks for visiting!

Meet the Miners...

Paul - Vocals, Guitar

Liz - Vocals

Stew - Bass

Geoff - Guitar, Vocals

Mike - Drums

Influences: The Velvet Underground
Orange Juice
The Go-Betweens
Pavement
The Monochrome Set
The Brilliant Corners
Sparklehorse
Punk Rock
John Peel

Sounds Like: 'lovely, witty guitar pop... exactly what's missing from British pop music nowadays (reminiscent of Edwyn Collins and Orange Juice)'
- Cactus Killer Radio

'a slo-fi post-Tramway burn of insight, retrospection and perhaps a little latent Pastelism. Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised by the quality though, given WMD Paul Towler's connection with the Haywains.'
- In Love With These Times

'simple guitar pop songs that float nicely in and out of alt-country territory. I've complained before about the lack of UK bands dabbling in this genre, so it's always nice to find some willing to give it a shot'
- Another Form of Relief

'songs of pure country-glazed jangle and heart felt pining. Orange Juice meets The Byrds.'
- Closet Trekkie

'a twisted take on guitar-pop, mixing jangly guitars with a hybrid of alt-country, dark brooding lyrics and no-frills charm - their roots are in 'C86' era indie-pop having previously founded 80's twee-pop veterans The Haywains'
- Moles Bands

'Hank Williams saved my life is melodic, catchy country feel pop. Does it work? Well yes it does. We love this jangly tune, it is far too catchy for its own good. Play it in the car and you will find yourself grinning and singing along. Brilliant!'
- Bristol Rock

'a melodious, hook drenched indie leaning pop group... more than just a gig - an event! Cracking stuff!'
- Wunderbar Listings

Record Label: Cloudberry Records
Type of Label: Indie

Six Months In Arrears

I once had a job filling shelves. If there was one thing I learnt from that job (other than the realization that I had an allergy to detergents) it was discovering just how many songs a person can dis...
