A man who doesn't have dreams doesn't have much

About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorYou'll need to stop the default song from playing before you play this - my music video for 52 Cards, made as part of the Channel 4 backed 20/20/02 Vision competition. Huge thanks to Aurora Fearnley and her team at Little Northern Light productions, and to arts-stra for selecting me as a finalist for the contest and for putting me with such a great team. We had two weeks from meeting to submitting our entry and this is what we came up with...
Get this video and more at MySpace.com... When I was at school I wanted to be a footballer. Then a juggler. Then rather more sensibly, a PE teacher. But now when I grow up I want to be a songwriter. I sing and I play guitar... and tambourine, triangle, rice in tupperware. The wooden things from school that have notched sides which you run a stick up and down. Two fingers at a time casio-tone synth is also a forte.I've played for literally tens of people. I've also played for thousands. I haven't played for tens of thousands yet, unless you count tv and radio.I'm very mellow and easy going, I don't smoke, I do drink, I speak a little Italian, and I love people who make me laugh. I support Hull City AFC. Films I love are comedies, courtroom dramas, thrillers and psychological stuff. A Few Good Men, My Cousin Vinny, Seven, I won't list loads or you'll get bored.Hope you enjoy the music, if you need to contact me outside of myspace please email me direct on [email protected]

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: this is it
Band Members: Just me - Steve Reed, guitars/singing. Usually solo live as well, although I have been known to loan friends from their respective bands now and again which is always fun
Influences: Suede, Brett Anderson, Bernard Butler, The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Clapton unplugged, Simon & Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Crowded House, Beach Boys, Rachmaninov, Handel, Strauss, Paganini, Bach, Elvis Costello, Nina Simone, The Nevilles / Aaron Neville, The Beautiful South, Foo Fighters, Green Day ... also not really influences but I love Hendrix, Tenacious D, Keane 1st album, Fonda 500, as with most normal people the list could go on but I'll stop there for fear of inducing sleep or eye pain
Sounds Like: "Sunny, bright and deliciously unpretentious" (Sandman Magazine) ----- "A natural...Beautiful and passionate" (Hull Daily Mail) ----- "...a great voice...wonderfully warm...rich melodies..." (The Bath Chronicle) ----- "A pleasure to listen to" (KC Stadium) ----- "Exquisite and quite frankly beautifully crafted...one hell of an ear for melody..." (Indreamsrecords.com) ----- "...a McCartney-esque appreciation of how to construct and deliver a simple, yet paradoxically complex song" (thisisull.com) ----- "...a flawless set..." (Music HQ)
