TO "LET GO" DOES NOT MEAN TO STOP CARING,
IT MEANS I CAN NOT DO THE CARING FOR SOMEONE ELSE. IT IS NOT TO CUT MYSELF OFF, BUT YET IT IS THE REALIZATION, THAT I CAN NOT CONTROL ANYONE BUT MYSELF.
TO "LET GO"IS NOT TO ENABLE, BUT TO ALLOW LEARNING FROM NATURAL CONSEQUENSES. IT IS TO ADMIT POWERLESSNESS, WHICH MEANS, THE OUTCOME IS OUT IN MY HANDS.
TO "LET GO" IS NOT TRYING TO CHANGE OR BLAME ANOTHER, IT'S TO STAND ACCOUNTABLE AND MAKE THE MOST OF MYSELF.
TO "LET GO" IS NOT TO CARE FOR, BUT TO CARE ABOUT. IT IS NOT TO STAND IN FRONT OF ANOTHER, BUT YET TO WALK NEXT TO THEM.
TO "LET GO" IS NOT TO JUDGE, BUT ALLOW ANOTHER TO BE A HUMAN BEING.
TO "LET GO" IS NOT TO FORCE MYSELF INTO THE MIDDLE BY TRYING TO ARRANGE OUTCOMES, BUT INSTEAD, ALLOW OTHERS TO NAVIGATE THEIR OWN PATHS.
TO "LET GO" IS NOT TO BE PROTECTIVE, IT'S TO PERMIT ANOTHER TO FACE REALITY. IT IS NOT TO DENY, BUT TO ACCEPT.
TO "LET GO" IS NOT TO BERATE, DISCOURAGE OR ACCOST, BUT INSTEAD, TO SEARCH OUT MY OWN SHORTCOMINGS, AND CORRECT THEM.
TO "LET GO" IS NOT TO CRITIZE AND ADJUST MY SURROUNDINGS TO BETTER SUIT MY OWN AGENDA, BUT INSTEAD, TO TAKE EACH DAY AS IT COMES, AND WHOLLY AND GRATFULLY APPRECIATE MY PLACE IN IT.
TO"LET GO" IS NOT TO CRITCIZE OR REGULATE ANYONE, BUT TO TRY TO BECOME ALL I STRIVE TO BE. IT IS NOT TO REGRET THE PAST, BUT TO GROW, LIVE AND EMBRACE ALL THE UNKNOWN THAT IS STILL TO COME.

I returned late the other night, from the DMF/NMFS/NOAA(Dept. of Marine Fisheries/National Marine Fisheries Service/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), Herring/Mackerel meeting that was held just outside Newport, RI, and let me tell you, writing is on the wall my friends. The extreme left, very cunningly concealed as conservationists, are doing EVERYTHING in there power to shut us down. Not due to overfishing mind you. The fish stock is healthier, and more ROBUST that it has been since the 1970s. "The most recent stock assesment in 2005 estimated about 1 MILLION metric tons of Atlantic Herring, which is nearly twice the amount at which herring would be considered overfished."(Associated Press-11/19/07) We have already been banned from the best fishing grounds, while other boats catching the same fish, in the same quantities we would, have been allowed to fish there with near regulatory impunity. One of the boats allowed to fish within this area this past summer, whos boat had the "BEST week it has ever had"($15-$20K for crew share for five days work, where as we, shared out at $700 for the whole season)), and was one of the largest and most vocal proponents for keeping the mid-water trawlers 50 miles from the coast because of the "damage" trawlers do to the herring fishery, was caught poaching herring somewhere in the neighborhood of 15,000,000 lbs....give or take. And when the quota of fish is caught whitin 50 miles from land, that very same boat...riggs over, to go TRAWLING!!! The only conclusion any reasonable person can draw from this is, we as mid-water trawlers, are being singled out, and they're trying to bleed us dry. A war of attrition if you will. Allow them to fish, but only where the fishing is sub-par. Eventually we can no longer afford to keep the boats up and running, and with that, they have won. We are an easy target. It's as simple as that. There are not many of us, and the liberals are using there entire arsenal against us, not excluding propoganda, mistruths, distortion, special intrest agendas and flat out lies, just to keep us from fishing. One Government official from Massachusetts stated the night of the meeting that he, in his twenty years of dealing with commecial fishing, has never seen such a DIRECT assault on a fishery! I suppose we shouldn't expect ANYTHING LESS from the far left. These are the same people who condone ads like this...
For any of you having a hard time making out what's in the add, let me clarify. This particular LeftWing org, one that's very respected,PETA(such a nice cuddly name isn't it. People for Ethical Treatment of Animals.), deemed it appropriate to compare your scrambled eggs, to the murder of 6 million human beings...
How are we expected to disenthrall ourselves from a force that had little or no moral sruple, and are so willing to go to these extreme lengths to acheive there agenda? How are we supposed to match dollar for dollar, with organizations who have an infinate supply of funds, and unlimited access to it? I'll tell you how. We're not. The "conservation" group PEW Charitable Trust has just given out a $600,000 grant, with the hopes of shutting us down. We're left trying to pool money together from all the other boats in order to get a lawyer who will be able to help us full time. Remember,this is not the government who's trying to force us out, they, for the most part, support us. These are, the Special Interest Groups. The only way we're going to survive this, is to inform and educate as many people as possible, as to our plight. And hopefully expose some these organizations. The ones that mask there extremism with warm fuzzy names(PEW Caritable Trust/CHOIR Coalition), for what they really are. Parasites. Parasites who will attach themselves to there chosen host, in this case our fishery, and slowly bleed them, until they die. So be carefull fisherman brethren with whom you choose to get into bed, because if this host dies, they WILL be out looking for another....
