I have waaaay too many interests to list them all here, but really just your typical 20-something-ish stuff... :)
You know, hanging out with friends, cooking out, going to the bars on occasion, having friends over for beer-n-movie nights, etc. Umm, going and getting new tattoos or piercings is always fun, as are random road trips at 1am to New Orleans back in the day (love ya Nathan!) or driving 18 hours non-stop to Vegas (love ya too Melissa!). My hubby and I like hitting the local sushi place and stuffing face there then going to the cigar shop that has a BYOB lounge and kicking back for a nightcap drink afterward. I have lots of fun playing around on MySpace and IMVU.com, and I'm constantly updating all the different websites I run for work, fun or personal stuff as well as a few school related ones. I like taking my doggies out to the puppy park to let them run rampant and frolic with other bow wows from time to time, too. Other than that it's just your run-of-the-mill stuff. Yeah, I know, I'm boring, huh?... *lol*:P
Oh, just about anyone really. I like meeting new people and hearing about their lives. I guess that's one reason I got into nursing... :) But seriously, ask anyone who's known me for more than a year and they'll tell you I can go pretty much anywhere and know at least one person there. *lol* It's true! I just like people, though... what more can I say?!?!
Honestly, there isn't much I don't like... well, except rap/hip hop and any variation of tejano in existence! *lol* I really listen to classic rock, punk (especially Celtic Punk!), and techno. I also adore anything by Cold Play and the Counting Crows when I'm feeling particularly introspective. :) I've been on a Johnny Cash kick lately... I forgot how much I liked his music. Oh, and my hubby has gotten me into Russian music like the stuff on the Hunt for Red October soundtrack. Fascinating stuff!! I'm also addicted to Guitar Hero I & II, and they have a bunch of songs I've never heard before that are growing on me... mostly metal, really, but good stuff none the less!
I like WAY too many to list, but essentially anything in the "historic fiction" category (stuff like Gladiator, Braveheart, Troy, Patriot, Apocalypto, 300, Last of the Mohicans, etc), horror/suspense, extremely campy comedy (basically anything Jim Carrey has been in), and "think films" (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Butterfly Effect, Beautiful Mind, Attic Expeditions, etc). I'm easy to please. :)
Actually, I don't watch TV much. lol I do, however, love to buy whole seasons of shows. I currently own 1 or more seasons of La Femme Nikita, Southpark, ER, Xena, Firefly, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Charmed. That's just the tip of the iceberg... we've got a whole library in mind! :) The only stuff I come even close to catching regularly is Supernatural and Gilmore Girls (reruns now), and I occasionally happen upon CSI and Law and Order as well. I really like them both, but it never fails that I'll come in half way through the show and have no clue what's going on. :( I gave up entirely on ER and will just continue to buy the full seasons to get caught up. *lol* My guilty pleasure, I'm almost ashamed to admit, is America's Next Top Model. hehe Hell's Kitchen is pretty cool, too, because Gordon Ramsey is a complete nutter but he's brilliant!
I like anything Robin Cook has written and most stuff in the medical thriller genre. Nothing like good thought-provoking titles like V for Vendetta, The DaVinci Code, Poisonwood Bible, The Secular Bible, or End of Faith to keep things interesting, too. I also like anything about vampires, mythology/fantasy, or magic. So, basically, anything by Tolkien, Rice, or Rowling! hehe :)
People who still pass nursing school after having an uphill battle all the way from dealing with life complications along the way! If they can do it, I can do it!
Christopher Reeve is a hero of mine for many, many reasons, most of which are more personal than obvious actually. He just rocked! My birth parents are also my heroes since they were kind enough to give me a chance at a better life than they could provide. :) And, of course, let's not forget my REAL parents for whom I would be a dastardly street urchin were it not for their love, tolerance, and infinite patience with me. Kiss noise! :) Lastly, John Lennon, the Dali Lama, Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Darwin, and Einstein are all people for whom I have great respect for their life's works in education, tolerance, diplomacy, and peace that have positively influenced the world in so many ways and will continue to do so for generations to come.
