Eternal Evacuee

No matter what you have heard, I am not that kind of girl.

About Me

I use to have more personal stuff here, and then I came across a quote that summed it up well for me. Now I am all about that..."Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, 'WOO HOO what a ride!'"

My Interests

My interests include, but are not limited to the following: Making things with my hands. Shrinkidinks. Laughing. Photography. Watching my gorgeous niece, and my Adisa grow up. Listening to live music. Believing in this city. Seeing the world as a place for my favorite kids to grow up in. Visiting my biological family. Returning to my self-made family. Hanging out with fun/smart/good looking people. Dancing at Grits. Dancing just about anywhere. Listening to those that need to talk. Talking to those that just want to listen. Cooking for others. Eating food others cook for me. Oh, and drinking alcohol with fun folks.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who doesn't take themselves too seriously and doesn't feel the need to fill silence with noise. Get your own free cool template at MySpace Layouts

Music:

Anything I can dance to in the street, during a hurricane, barefoot.

Movies:

Goonies, Garden State, Joy Luck Club, Old School, The Tao of Steve, anything scary (although that is more of a genre than a title), and so many more that I can't think of right now...

Television:

Buffy, Golden Girls, Unsolved Mysteries, The Simpsons, The Family Guy, Chappelle Show, The Daily Show, Iron Chef, Most of VH1's shows that remind me of a youth I am still trapped in, and all of MTV's reality shows-don't worry I am seeking therapy for this, The West Wing when Aaron Sorkin wrote for it, and so many others...I am an addict really.

Books:

Grapes of Wrath, To Kill A Mockinbird, The Odyssey, Anything romance by Nora Roberts, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Walter the Farting Dog, Where the Wild Things Are, and so many other "children's" books I can't pass without re-reading.

Heroes:

My mom, my brother, and my Grandma and Grandpa C. I admire all of those other great historic heroes, but these are the ones that I learned the most from.
