Defying Gravity

About Me

I am a stay at home mom to 2 mostly wonderful kiddos and will be welcoming a 3rd in April. In my previous life I taught science to 7th and 8th graders and actually enjoyed those hormonal little buggers. I've been married to my amazing husband Mark for 5 years. Don't want to get all sappy, but he is my whole, and that's all I'll say.I love to read and am almost always in the various stages of some book or another. I recently picked up a new hobby, knitting, which is very strange for my non-crafty, utterly uncreative, self. I have the very bare basics down but I have a long way to go and a lot left to learn. All and all I am a fairly boring midwestern suburban girl. Oh, and I am pretty computer-dumb, so this should be an interesting adventure. My MC peer pressure biatches better help me out here!Layout made by Psychoward54 at CreateBlog.com .

My Interests

Music:

Not into music much at all compared to my hubby. I listen to whatever is on the radio on the basic pop station-Green Day, Nickleback, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani, and a myriad of others I sing along to but have no idea who they are. I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that of the very few CDs I own, most are recordings from Broadway shows. Yikes, can't believe I just said that outloud!

Television:

I've cut back on TV quite a bit lately. I used to be a slave to reality TV, especially Survivor, The Apprentice, and The Amazing Race, but they've lost their appeal to me. My favorite show this season (Reunion, the trash that it was) got canceled so I'm looking for at least one new piece of mindless crap to fill the void. I'll catch ER if I remember to watch it, and a few others, but I'm not addicted to anything currently. I've been watching Everybody Loves Raymond re-runs and finding them pretty funny. I go to sleep most nights to Seinfeld....read the subtext "go to sleep"....It is Mark's favorite show but amazingly I know most episodes now too! Strange how that happens huh?

Books:

Favorite all time book is To Kill a Mockingbird. Recent favorites are My Sister's Keeper and The Time Traveler's Wife. In between those heavy (to me anyway) thought-provoking chick lits I like to read Nora Roberts for pure mindless craptasticness. Hey, I just made up a word!
