Negative Eight

About Me

Birthed 1997 in the Elf village. NEGATIVE EIGHT is like an old dream that flourished and floundered sporadically to the ears of friends and peers in a small garage in Nyack New York. Much like alot of the music to follow from the band NEGATIVEHATE, the music was a pure emotional catharsis, harnessed through primitive recording equipment and varriable sleep pattern epiphanies. At times purging moments trapped between nourishment and sickness and at other times defying the laws of frequency and revelation. But this indelible nature seems only a fragment of their total being. When listening to " AMALGAM a Collection of War Poems", a Negative Eight split with 'NAVICON TORTURE TECHNOLOGIES' one is privy to the sound of life lurking through the dead planes of demons and angels. And from the flight bendy highs, there are vortexes that sink deeply into the unseen history of disparity. They seem as if they are secrets through sound, to be deciphered only by the adroit minds of the enhanced seeker. The limited first release was garnered in a cryptic Duct Tape and glue re-gift CD jewlbox with seeds hidden in the spine. Today while wrestling the rattling CD from piles of plastic, I feel as if I have in my grips, a treasure in sound and art. Something that touches that old dream and awakens it into the sky and earth scorched dawn of the future.
