That boy is a problem. Never was a truer sentiment echoed when describing the Florida born, Baltimore bred MC known as UnReal. Biting sarcasm, sharp wit, combined with a polished delivery and a fierce lyrical ability make UnReal a force to be reckoned with. Influenced by Jay Z, B.I.G., Nas, Red Man, Big Daddy Kane, Big Pun, Big L, and Kool G Rap, UnReal is a combination of all, yet sounds like none.
At the age of 9, his family moved from Florida to his father’s hometown, Baltimore. It was here that UnReal’s passion for hip hop was discovered and cultivated. By the age of 14, UnReal joined the rap group the Afiliashun. In 1996, the Afiliashun released an EP entitled, “It’s Timeâ€, which featured the record “Who’s Thisâ€. This was the first record to feature Unreal, who at the time rapped under the alias, Wyse, to receive any critical praise. Soon after the Afiliashun split. After exploring many different situations, he decided to form UnReality Entertainment and push his own product.
In December 2004, UnReality Ent. Would release UnReal’s first official mixtape, Real Talk vol. 1. Due to the mixtape’s growing buzz, UnReal followed with a maxi-single series entitled, Street Heat. Since Real Talk vol. 1's release, UnReal has appeared on quite a few mixtapes such as, Street Radio vol. 1 &2( hosted by DJ Radio & Kay Slay), Hamsterdam( Darkroom Productions), On Da Grind vol. 2, 3 & 4, and Boss Talk vol. 30 & 37( hosted by DJ Booman). Appearances on projects such as Harm City (hosted by DJ DNA), Bmore’s Most Wanted, Metropolitan Music and numerous mixtape projects and collaborations, UnReal’s plate is very full.
UnReal’s buzz just continues to soar with the release of his mixtape project, Dat Boyz A Problem. Songs featured on this project are in rotation at Joint One(Japan), DJ Modesty-Real Hip Hop show/Radio 95.9 Laser(France), Deep Flow Radio(internet), and placing 2 in the country among unsigned artists on Real Hip Hop Radio(internet). Still at work, you can catch him recording for his downloadable follow up, Da F$$k Else U Want 4 Free, and a new mixtape, Audio Crack. UnReal just continues to push towards his goal of dominating this industry. That boy really is a problem.
