I don't have cable. I have a tv but it's only for watching movies.I have never seen Desparate Housewives, Lost, or American Idol, which makes me either culturally illiterate or really smart.

Books:

I think my favorite book ever is "Home: A Short History of an Idea," by Witold Rybczynski. Know any more like that?
