I am here for Friends

About Me

I am simply who I am and pretend to be nothing more. I have learned that moments are fleeting and every day is a brand new opportunity for me to learn, share and grow in new experiences. I will not complain about where I live, nor about my situation...for I have the opportunity to travel and embrace the love offered from friends and family who surround me. After I spent 10 days shuffling through Italy I knew that I had to see more of the world, and have made a promise to take my son to a different state every year, and to turn him into an international traveler by the time he is 10. I enjoy being alone; it is where I am most at home and where I can immerse myself in writing and photography. There is no greater feeling than driving, with no end point in mind, with a camera, notebook and pen in my passenger seat. I know that nothing lasts forever and make strong efforts to not take people, things or time for granted.

My Interests

Watching, listening, learning, setting goals, thinking, showering, capturing, accomplishing goals, sleeping, dreaming, reading, talking, writing, ridiculing, apologizing...so on and so forth...

I'd like to meet:

People with something to say, who can say it well. People with nothing to say, who can appreciate the beauty of silence. ..

Music:

The Cure, Dresden Dolls, Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, NIN, System of a Down, Cooper Temple Clause, Static X, Bullet for my Valentine, Coheed & Cambria, The Used, Tool, Cold, Radiohead, Queens of The Stoneage, Army of Anyone, Deftones, Interpol, Toadies, Burden Brothers, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Echo and the Bunnymen, Sarah McLaughlan, Smashing Pumpkins, etc...I am obsessed with Brian Viglione!

Television:

It's all just background noise most of the time...although I do tend to focus just a little longer on Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Discovery Health, National Geographic, The Travel Chanel, and Animal Planet...go figure.

Books:

Party of One: The Loners Manifesto-Anneli Rufus, The Witch Must Die-Sheldon Cashdan, 100 Years of Solitude-Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Lost Souls-Poppy Z. Brite, Violin-Anne Rice, Their Eyes Were Watching God-Zora Neale Hurston, Dante's Inferno, The Sound and The Fury - William Faulkner, all Stephen King, some Dean Koontz, Complete Works of Shakespeare, any work by Langston Hughes, and tons of philosophy - Kant, Aristotle, Nietzsche, etc... I really should read a lot more than I do...so sad.

Heroes:

My mom, because she is the strongest woman I know and the reason that I am who I've become as a woman and a mother. My son...he is the most amazing human being on the planet. Everything about him is magical. He is the reason I live and breathe, the first thing I think about in the morning, the last thing I think about before I go to bed. I have never met a more compassionate, loving, caring, thoughtful, smart and funny human being in my life. Every time I look into his tiny face and feel his little arms hug me it feels like the first time and I know that I was born to be his mom. He's absolute magic!
