Willy was born in Secaucus, NJ and raised in West New York in which his passion for music was listening to the heavy weights of the club scene such as; Glenn Friscia, David Morales, Junior Vasquez, Lord G, and Charlie Casanova just to name a few. He studied his favorite top DJ’s music style format and wanted to take the challenge in the music business. It all began messing around editing tracks on an old Sony dual tape deck with his sister’s, 80’s brat pack music and then before you know it he purchased his first set of Technic 1200 turntables while attending Memorial High School and working part time as a janitor in a factory. He spent countless hours behind the turntables, perfecting and searching his own style. Until one day he met Rolly at the infamous mom and pop record store in Hudson County called Your Beat Records. Your Beat was a gold mine for DJ’s; it was a sacred record store to get exclusive and unreleased music. Rolly helped Willy to find his own DJ style; he spent numerous hours mixing in his bedroom to get it down packed. As he kept going to Your Beat Records for the latest tracks, Rolly and him built a strong friendship. He had given Willy an opportunity as his mobile DJ roadie, to watch and learn the enthusiasm of a successful party. DJ Willy Winx started going to exclusive parties with Rolly and getting the chance to play live in front crowds of 100-500 at every event. He began building his music skills and resume for every nightclub and private event he attended. Willy has played in New York City nightclubs such as The Tunnel, Mission, Latin Quarters, China club, and the renovated Limelight, just to name a few; he’s also played in local New Jersey hot spots such as Groove Lounge, Conga Lounge, Drama, Paradox, Babalu Lounge, Ola Lounge, Tribecca, Tiki Lounge, Image, and Abyss. He also had the pleasure working at Your Beat Records, where he learned the music business, the retail side, and interacting with consumers. He held his Sales Manager position at Your Beat Records for the past 11 years, networking with music distributors and world wide record labels. Recently Willy got married on June 2005 to his beautiful wife, Jennifer, where she holds a Senior Marketing Analyst title at the infamous Univision-Channel 41 in NYC. Willy is currently working as an IT Administrator at Last Mile Connections, a telecom company in Jersey City. Willy has come a long way from what he was and who he is in today’s DJ world. He continues ripping the dance floor in every party he touches.
