college in nebraska was recreational. didn't learn in the classroom. learned more on the outside, a lot of life started in tokyo. i fell in love too soon...inevitable and necessary. herman hesse opened my eyes, the beats showed me a path. henry miller told me about the absurdity of existence and darkened my innocent appetite for lifetimes that became dark and hazy. i was alone, masochistic, self medicated. there was beauty in that saddness. i vommited emotion in black sketchbooks. when college was almost over and dun i realized that i had to do art for the rest of my life. graduated with a fucking economics degree. spent a year in japan. met a girl, she moved in, we spoke japanese, communicating was problematic and realized too late that she was wrong, but i liked her too much to say. it ended. threw lots of clay, more sketching, more dreaming, and came back to the states. now i'm studying under a potter in minnesota. i'll be here till i'm 26. incubating purpose or something. life is good.
