Forever Ashes, Maine’s newest metal band, has been formed in the wake of two of southern Maine’s most popular heavy music acts in recent memory. Boasting former members from both the influential band "Unscarred", and the riff racing juggernauts "Shadow Facts", the quartet has already generated a high level of anticipation and excitement for what is to come. Late in the winter of 2005, Alvah Johnson(Shadow Facts) met up with Chris deBree and Mickey Pacanza(both former Unscarred)for what would amount to be a monumental session of music. Bill Adams(Shadow Facts) was very soon to follow, and a flurry of song writing activity and recording ensued. It was official, the chemistry and excitement was impossible to mask, this was a band with enormous potential. Shortly after putting out a 4 song demo the band decided some changes needed to be made, so entered 2nd guitar player Mike Bernier(also former Unscarred), and Bass player Heath Morrill(Forgive Our Sins). Fused together by the rock solid bass playing of Heath, a man with a nub on one hand, and the thundering assault of double bass work by Chris, this dynamic, rhythmic duo would surely match up with the best rhythm sections of any band in the state. Alvah’s and Mike’s ferocious attack on the strings sways from precise picking patterns and squeals to triumphant and tasty treats for your ears. Mickey’s ravenous, throat tearing screams, blended with full bodied, harmonious dissension, round out the high energy and epic sound of Forever Ashes. The current line-up of musicians may be new, but the experience of venues/shows played, and bands they have played with, is vast. Both bands the members were in, have traveled, and toured through out the New England area, and were well known for their stage presence and show intensity. Between them they have shared the stage with such national acts as Life of Agony, 36 Crazy Fists, 30 Below Summer, Element 80, the Chasm, Incantation, Mortician, and Funeralus.
