About Me

I'd like to think I don't really fit into one specific social stereotype, but there are a few to which I tend to come close to, or sometimes people put me in. As far as look goes, I probably fall in a grey area between the Goth, Heavy Metal, vaguely Beatnik, and Geek/Hacker subtypes. I generally wear black, with geeky, radical/Marxist, or vaguely Pagan shirts. As for my personality, I'm a bit weird, very sarcastic, a bit geeky, occasionally tactless (unintentional, but it happens), intelligent (or at least I think so), a bit quiet/shy (though I'm working on that), and ready to talk about things: politics (especially socialism), religion, controversial topics, and music are my favourites. I'm the current national vice-chair of the Young People's Socialist League and a member of the Socialist Party USA . I also have "official sympathiser status in Solidarity . I'm always willing to give people information about any of those organisations, or if I can't answer the questions, direct them to people who can.I do have a LiveJournal, name being Agent_Moody. I don't update that often, but you can still check it out if you want. Also, if anyone wants to talk to me in realtime, my AIM screen-name is DeusExSylvanus42. I'm usually online.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Local socialists and other cool left-wing radical types. Other geeks would be great too, and people who share musical tastes. It's sometimes difficult to find people who even know about some of the bands I listen to...

Comparing US Policies to Fascist Ideologies

It's a popular thing for those of us on the Left today to use the word "fascist" when describing the Bush administration and its policies.  The idea of lumping the administration with the likes o...
