Reeve and Jason Atkins play every Friday night at Big Ben Pub http://www.bigbenpub.com/
Reeve Coobs is a singer-songwriter from the south – specifically, from Charlotte, North Carolina. She creatively blends folk, pop, country, and rock into an original sound of her own. Her lyrics are smart and real, and her voice is rich and haunting and leaves you wanting more. Reeve's songs can sometimes be uncomfortably honest, but that is what makes her such a moving performer. She has a very powerful voice but unlike most voices you hear today, Reeve knows when to keep it soft and light. Her thoughtful lyrics and voice joined with her tasteful guitar playing makes for an extremely rare talent.
Reeve played with the popular all-gal band The Near Misses for four years. During that time The Misses released a record entitled Marigold. They also were the recipients of many awards including "Best Female Vocalist" Critics Pick for the 2008 Creative Loafing Best of Charlotte “Best Band†Readers’ Choice Award for the 2006 Creative Loafing Best of Charlotte: International Edition, "Best New Band" Award in the Arts & Entertainment category of the 2005 Creative Loafing Readers’ Choice Awards.
She currently sings backup and plays keyboard for the Charlotte based band gogoPilot. They have just released their first full length album called Mañana, Mon Frère which is available at the Common Market! Front man Jeff Williams is also playing the role of producer for Reeve's upcoming debut album.
Reeve can also be heard singing around town with many fine folks including: Josh Daniel, Grey Brewster, Mike Strauss, Josh Pender, Etta Lea, John Dungan, Transmission Fields, and Donna Duncan. And when she is not singing on stage she is a registered Music Together teacher and works with Music Together of Charlotte.
In 2005 Reeve won the Creative Loafing Reader’s Pick award for Best Female Vocalist.
