I am a teacher. By teacher I don't mean that I have some sense of superior wisdom I am seeking to set down on willing ears. No, by teacher I mean someone who helps others discover what they already know, but have yet to find within themselves. Although I do espouse certain facts necessarily, my greater mission is helping others become more open to their own truths. My purest moments in life have come when I see my students reach an epiphany and the class is silent in a moment of collective understanding. Likewise, it has come when two souls recognized each other and everything clicked into place.
In other news:
I think cynicism does not necessarily mean you are wiser, only more afraid. I've learned that it actually takes a great deal of courage to hope.
