I just moved to Omaha from Colorado Springs the second week of January 2007 for a management position in the network operations center at West. I really haven't gotten into the groove of things yet here as I'm learning my new job and recovering from moving expenses.
Back in Colorado Springs, I was very active. My big addiction is karaoke and I spent plenty of time doing that. I'm still looking for a good place to go here. It doesn't seem to be as popular here in Omaha as it is in Colorado Springs, but I hope to find a good karaoke hangout. :)
Hiking in the mountains was always a fun thing to do. That is definitely one thing I really miss. The beauty and awe of the mountains is something I will always desire to go back to. I know there are no mountains around here, but I hear that people still hike. I guess I'll have to look for some trails.
I absolutely love bowling. I've been doing it since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. I'm no pro by any means, but I've got all my own gear and am always up for bowling!! I enjoy billiards almost as much and have been shooting pool even longer than I've been bowling. I don't shoot nearly as much as I'd like, so hopefully that'll change. One thing I really hate about Omaha is that all of the billiards joints are smoking. Well...that I know of anyway. Damn I hate smoke.
I'm a rocker and have been to many, many concerts. I don't think I could ever go to enough. Some of the best concerts I've been to are Pantera, Static-X, Machine Head, White Zombie/Rob Zombie, and Type-O-Negative. There are many, many more I could name. :)
Movies are always fun to go to. I'm actually about to go see Smoking Aces here in a few minutes. I enjoy pretty much any movie genre other than the sappy stuff. Although, I'll even watch that if it involves cuddling. ;)
I love going out to eat as well. Some of my favorite places are Texas Road House, Olive Garden, The Cheesecake Factory. Out of room here, ask if you want to know more!
