London’s finest Rap duo has finally landed and by all means their taking no hostages. JFXmusic (formally known as Joint Effects) have been on their music grind for some time now and like anything that has exceeded its limits, they are breaking through by all means.
Both artists began rhyming in their early school days and started off in separate groups but were heavily involved in each other’s musical projects. Having grown up together since the age of 4, the bond between these young men is like no other. Reading each other’s musical mind is not unknown for these guys. It was inevitable as destiny took place fusing their musical abilities, bringing the change the music industry highly anticipated.
JFXmusic was officially formed in the summer of 2004, the boys worked with a few up and coming producers and went on to showcase their talent all over London. Eventually separating from their main producer, JFX found themselves somewhat stranded due to their heavy reliability on him.
This was a key turning point in the career for the boys, a time where they established their trademark sound and took their lyrical content to a whole new level. With no producer being able to capture the vision JFX had, with the encouragement of Henry “Reks” Nwasokwa, David “Blaks” Blake took it upon himself to become the producer of the group, leading JFXmusic in a new direction and together ultimately a new era.
The boys continued to push hard and set up their own studio, which enabled them to release 5 underground mix tapes between the years of 2006 – 08 selling over 20 thousand copies across the UK. This dramatically increased the buzz and reputation of JFX, earning them their rightful place in the underground urban music scene, and recognised by all as a talented hit making powerful force.
During 2007 they released their 1st underground Single, Summer Time; the single was a huge hit for the guys and was nationally televised throughout the whole of the UK. Due to their inexperience of the music industry and having to do it all themselves at such a young age, JFX went through the ups & downs of the scene, and kept a low profile regarding new material releases in 2008.
During this period the boys perfected their craft and hit 2009 with a whole a new image style, musical sound and determination. They decided to implement different popular elements of UK pop, indie, electro and funky house music into their trademark sound and came up with a style which could only be described as Joint Effects Music. This was the time the boys decided to officially brand themselves as JFXmusic.
Labelled as the UKs Outcast, and known for their clever musical interaction with each other on stage, JFX have an immense ora about them that just makes them the life of any party. Reks & Blaks are out to give you a performance unlike anything you have seen or heard before.
Music artist come and go but similar to fashion labels these boys always come out with something to keep themselves fresh, current & different.
