Mitochondria DNA is only inherited from the mother. It’s not a mixture of both parents’ genes, like nuclear DNA, so it preserves a family record that isn’t scrambled in every generation. My mother Laura Pachot was born in Arroyo (Guayama), Boriken (Great Land of the Valiant and Noble Cacique) March 8th, 1941. My father in Rio Piedra,1939. My Grandmother Maria Rivera from my maternal side was also born in Arroyo(Guayama), 1922.My maternal grandfater Pablo Pachot was born in Maunabo(Guayaney). My Maternal Great Grandmother (Mama) was born Encarnacion Gonzalez in Maunabo(Guayaney).My maternal great grandmother (from Pablo pachot)Clotilde was born in Africa (Congo). That’s how far back eye can trace my family story. We tried to obtain information through family members but no one can tell us about our mothers before Mama (Encarnacion Gonzalez)and Clotilde. The problem for many families of tainu ancestry is the difficulty of going back and tracing ancestral bloodlines because the Islands has been plagued with numerous huricanes ,pirates and spanish conquisadores destroying birth records. This was so that the spanish crown can claim land and perpetuate lies about the Amerindians (tainu) genocide. Little did they know that science and DNA testing from the Universities in the Carribean will someday unearth the facts. Those studies show that the inhabitants of the islands; Boriken(Puerto Rico),Kiskeia(Santo Domingo(,Kuba(Cuba),Guayanaka(Venezuela)an.... still carries 60% to 79% of the Amerindian (tainu) Nuwbun mitochondria DNA. Eye remember Mama, eye visited her house in Arroyo as a child. My memories of her are fond ones, her face will always be in my mind. My grandmother Maria Rivera-Pachot eye do love dearly. The most outstanding thought eye have of them are their facial features. It was as if you were looking at a native-amerindian princess with such characteristics that are found in our nubian people through-out the Carribean Islands.Guayama Yucayeke(village) was governed by Cacique Guamani.
