No Spark, No Heart

About Me

The Washington Post (USA):
’People who do venture out to see Syme, will be rewarded with a fantastic head-trip’
The Norwegian band Syme creates pop music at the meeting point between melody and noise. Cacophonous guitar sounds, ethereal synths and a hypnotic groove prevail throughout their sound, which is always welded to a well-tuned pop melody.
The band is currently in the studio working on the eagerly awaited followup to 2005’s critically acclaimed tour de force ‘Swing Swing’ (Karisma/Tuba). With the working title ‘No Spark, No Heart’ Syme’s second album will present a focused, lighter, but always spectacular musical landscape, and will be released in Norway in 2008.
Undressmerobot.com(USA):
’Coming out of nowhere from Norway, these suckers made one of the best and most eclectic indie rock albums i’ve heard in a long while. Swing Swing is a journey, not just a CD. Syme’s music is a breath of fresh air in a world where almost all music is easily jammed into fixed genres. I live for this kind of music, and this album easily tops my 2005 list.’ – Graded A+ & 1 album of 2005
Aftenposten:
’A varied album and a great surprise (...) One of the best arguments to stop categorizing music I have heard in a long time’ 5/6
Bergens Avisen:
’Swing Swing is an exceptionally strong and varied debut album, displaying their talent for both dreamy pop and explosive noise rock.’ 5/6
