Love covers a multitude of sins...

About Me

***Emily Crawford has been singing her whole life, just ask anyone who knows her. Her parents will tell you that as soon as she could talk she started singing and has continued to this day. Emily was born and raised in Burbank, California where those closest to her watched her passion for music grow over the years. When she was eleven, she asked her dad to teach her to play the guitar so she could learn the praise and worship songs that she sang at youth group. Little did she know, as she held that big guitar and struggled to learn those basic chords, by her sophomore year of high school she would be leading worship for her youth group. In 2002 Emily began working at Hume Lake Christian Camps where she continued to serve for four years as a worship leader and counselor. Hume Lake brought her a great deal of experience playing music for a much bigger audience. During this time Emily began to cultivate a love for writing her own music. At this time Emily began to realize the possibility of pursuing music as a career. In the summer of 2004, a close family member was tragically killed. This led Emily to move to Washington State in 2005 to be close to her family. Since her move to the Pacific Northwest, she has had many opportunities to play at a wide variety of venues throughout Washington and Oregon. Emily frequently performs her music and/or leads worship in places such as churches, coffee shops, retreats, youth groups, bars, clubs and other special events.Emily’s music can best be described as very heartfelt and intimate. It has an original blend of smooth acoustic folk, with moving vocals and lyrics. Recently one fan wrote on her website, “Your music is so beautiful! It really touched my heart, listening to you sing, and to see that you are spreading God's word through your amazing voice and original music…”When asked whether she is a secular or Christian artist, Emily responds by saying, “All of my music is somehow a reflection of my experience, and a great deal of my experience is affected by my faith in God. However, not every song I write is specifically about God. Worship is broader than the songs we sing in church; it can include all the experiences of life.”In January, 2007 Emily released her much anticipated debut album “Give Me Life”. The Album is a progression through some of the various struggles and hard times faced in the Christian life. It expresses the highs and lows in both human relationships and relationship with God. “Take Me Away” soulfully express the desire to be free from the struggles of this life. “E-harmony” playfully pokes fun at internet dating adventures. “Spirit” powerfully inspires us to remember the source of our strength in hard times.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
