I think perhaps that there are heroic acts, but, like a human's capacity for sympathy, are isolated, not economic market friendly (and therefore largely ignored) neurotic, perhaps maladjusted, distraught, erratic and deviant. This is not created by the inner fortitude of the particular 'hero' but instead revolves around a little notion called environment, or situation-under directed laboratory conditions, yes, you too, can commit heroic, deviant acts.
