For those of you who are involved in my life, you know that I am going a different path than most people my age. It's hard, but fun and rewarding at the same time. I will be done with graduate school in a year and onto my job as a speech pathologist specializing with children on the autism spectrum. While I do like to go out on occasion, it does not define my lifestyle. I like to put others before myself. My job as a behavior therapist is tough but amazing as well. You go home either feeling like you had a really tough day and you wish you could've helped the children more, or "I can't believe I get paid to do this"... it is so amazing to make a difference in so many people's lives. My school practicums are amazing as well and let me know that I chose the right profession. I get to help both kids and adults pretty much every day. Along the way I have picked up some private clients on the side because I have amazingly been able to help them in a way that others couldnt... I dont know how, but it is incredible to know that I am making a difference in these children's lives. I know I sound like I am going all Mother Teresa on you.... but I am just so happy with where I am right now that I think it is great to share and maybe motivate others to start livin their dreams now instead of waiting until they get older.
