M-ROD

M-Rod also known as Mark Lorenzo Rodriguez was born March 27 1985 in Queens New York City. M-Rod was raised by his two Dominican grandparents due to the fact that his mother (Leda Rodriguez) joined the Air Force and was not allowed to be a single parent. His now deceased farther (Mark Holmes) was never a part in M-Rod’s life because of his hard knock life style on the streets of Harlem New York.M-Rod came up knowing two cultures and two languages. His grandfather taught him all he could about his Dominican heritage as well as many life lessons before he passed away in 1993. M-Rod them moved to Cocoa Beach Fl where his mother was stationed. While in Cocoa Beach M-Rod was involved in several activities such as talent shows, plays, baseball, basketball, and was highly involved in the church. In 1997 just before starting Cocoa Beach high school, M-Rods mother remarried and the family moved to Charleston South Carolina. M-Rod states that “Moving is never easy but I’m strong enough and smart enough to know that all things happen for a reason.” In Charleston M-Rod was involved in many actives such as Plays, football, basketball, talent and fashion shows. After Graduating from Stratford high School (Charleston SC) M-Rod decided to put his talents to work and started putting together the lyrics to his music.M-Rod eventually moved back to New York where he spent months motivating himself, writing songs every day and praying that he would get his life back together. This was the turning point in his life that he realized that writing music was his passion and that it was what he wanted to do. M-Rods motivation was increased when recording artist Lloyd from Murder INC. walked into the clothing store M-Rod was working at and after some conversation M-Rod asked what made him become a music artist… Lloyd then replied “it’s what I really wanted to do”. The light bulb just turned on.The Music that inspirers him the most varies from T.I to Tupac, Ludacris, Outkast, R. Kelly and his music. M-Rod claims his music is special because it’s not made for a certain race or a certain gender its music for all. M-Rod strongly believes that Faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not scene. M-Rod continues to give all the glory to the Lord for he is the reason that he is alive, therefore he cannot fail.
