About Me


As founder and director of Vinyl Beat Productions, Sean Place, has made a large impact on the Upstate NY area in a short time. Working diligently as a DJ and promoter, Sean has pumped crowds week to week since 2001 entertaining on lineups with local and international talent.
Along side colleague Dj Kemp, Vinyl Beat hosted Digital Fusion at Trexx nightclub for 2 years showcasing some of the areas hottest Djs every Thursday night. Due to their hard work, determination, and love for dance music this duo made Digital Fusion the most popular and respected underground music weekly in the area. This pair, also known as SPK, have spun some of the most memorable sets in Upstate history with their soulfully bangin techno/tech-house track armada and unrivaled energy.
Listening and studying electronic music since '94 has made him a scholar in his own time, standing up to long time veterans on the tables and being seen as equal. Sean's taste in music has been heavily influenced by early industrial and techno. Some examples inclue Underworld, Ministry, KMFDM, Orbital, Front Line Assembly, The Chemical Brothers, Revolting Cocks, Daft Punk, Moby, and various WaxTrax artists. Pride in track selection and integrity can be seen and felt by anyone who is witness to his sets.
This past year has yeilded great opportunities for Sean playing at events such as WMC (Winter Music Conference) in South Beach, Miami and at WEMF (World Electronic Music Festival) in Canada.
