Energy is life.Cultivating a fascination with music since birth, Joshua grew up with an affinity for disco, funk and metal; all of which played a key role in influencing his exclusive, artistic music-style. It was only after hearing the sounds of Bad Boy Bills Global House Culture Vol. 4, on cassette at a young age, did his passion for electronic music truly begin..Being a enthusiast wasnt enough, Joshuas true desire was to be the performer to make the music to get the crowd on their feet.Joshua, as Echo wanted to make the people dance and be the life beat of good memories... Echos sound outshines the competition by giving the fans the most driven hard-pounding sounds of (his) favorite brand techno influenced tracks coupled with disco and contagious tech-house. But what sets his sound a step above? Its the sweat on the dance floor when he cuts up the classic boom with funky hip hop, funk and the thump of metal and rock twisted into his electronic sets... Echos diverse composition preferences combine to make your mind and body enjoy every sound music has had to offer.In 1999, S.O.T. (Sons of Techno) was formed in the Dirty Jersey- combining both the forces of Echo and the pride of Puerto Rico- Dave Tryxx. They made their mark by dropping their trademark sounds of solid techno beats with a flow of flawlessly smooth head bobbing rhythms. It was their complimentary electronic blends and undying unified goal to make the party, that undoubtedly got them the respect they deserved.On September 30th, 2005 Joshua Shapiro A.K.A. Echo, hurdled the competition with his pioneer full-length album release - A trip Thru My House thus bringing it to the crowd in his DJ tour in a follow-up that made it an undeniable crowd pleaser ..With many years of dedication, sacrifice and the need to formulate the most addictive sound, Echo blew up on the national level from the home base of the NJ scene. His skills have taken him coat to coast to light up parties from Irvine Ca and back to Newark NJ.A self made man and driven entrepreneur Echo is constantly in search of one upping himself and making the next best sound. With thousands of DJ hours under his tilted cap Echo is a fanatical workaholic, constantly trying to push the envelope to make the fans move the dance floor. Currently in store are plans of branching his talents into new areas in North America and soon overseas with hot new material being tested locally. In the works are vinyl releases of some of the masterminded beats and rhythms created daily in the lab, as well as updates on sounds and selections on the Echo website (TB announced at a later date)..Soon Echo will release his next full-length techno installment (*Title in the works- scratch name From Dusk till Dawn) and take it to the streets. There is nothing better recalling my first party, seeing Mark V. & Poogie Bear drop some of the nastiest house Ive ever heard, live and in person. Gosh that was sweet. Imagine if someone said that about me after hearing one of my sets. That would be awesome. Echo makes sounds not just out of the desire to perform but the need to satisfy his obsession with hard hitting rhythms and the fury of creative energy in his soul.Techno is energy.Energy is his life.i'm actually a very chill person. I don't like to get upset or annoyed by stupid people so I try my hardest to just keep those type of people out of my life in the first place. Makes things just that much more enjoyable. I like to relax, kick back with good people, and just chill. I'm not into drama so if you cause it, I don't need it. I'm also into comedy, so I will make you laugh. That is, if I like you, of course. I spend alot of time going to the Improv. Couldn't think of a better way to spend an evening.=P
