About Me

I am a 6th grade teacher in Fremont, CA., but live in Pleasanton. After teaching this year, I will be retiring. Who knows what awaits me then! I have 2 lovely daughters - the older one lives in Gig Harbor, WA and just gave birth to my first grandchild, a lovely little girl named Ginger. My younger daughter lives in San Francisco and is attending the Academy of Arts. She is an amazing artist - I'm very proud of her! A good friend recently told me that I have a "wicked" sense of humor. (I think she meant that in a good way!) I love a good laugh, but not at the expense of someone else (unless they deserve it).

My Interests

I like to read, cook, play card games, and dance. I play a little golf, but would never win any contests. I like to go to the movies, especially the ones at the little theaters. I would love to go to plays and concerts more often. I know there are lots of things I haven't tried yet that might be fun.

I'd like to meet:

Lots of different kinds of people. Most of my friends are married and not available to hang out too much.

Music:

I like all kinds of music, but R&B would be my favorite.

Movies:

I really like movies that are not too predictable - I love being caught off guard by a tricky ending. Some of my favorite comedies are: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Fargo. I also love the old musicals like Camelot and Fiddler on the Roof.

Television:

I don't watch t.v. too often - I usually turn on the radio or stereo instead.

Books:

I read all kinds of books, fiction and nonfiction, depending on my mood. Right now I'm reading "The Whole World Over" by Julia Glass.

Heroes:

People who actually take the time to help others and do volunteer work. I think about it, but don't do it enough.
