I really enjoy reading, mainly philosophy or psychology. I am interested in the human mind, human nature, what makes us human, how we think, basically humanity as a whole. I also like studying rhetoric and live for love.
Someone not afraid to tell it like it is. Someone who can handle me and still like me.
Metal, Classical, Rock, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Hard Rock, Light Rock, Industrial, Jazz, Blues, Folk.Music I like: Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, The Cure, The Crystal Method, Cold, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Ministry, Mudvayne, Pink Floyd, PitchShifter, Rage Against the Machine, White Zombie, Beastie Boys, Coal Chamber, Daft Punk, ZZ Top, War, Lynrd Skynrd, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, DJ Shadow, Drowning Pool, Primer 55, Pearl Jam, Incubus, Fuel, Faith No More, Fear Factory, DVDA, The Transplants, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Flaw, Jurassic 5, KMFDM, Metallica, Mushroomhead, Sevendust, Spinshank, Monster Magnet, Buckwheat Zydeco, Pantera, Pink Floyd, Prong, Powerman 5000, Staind, The Ramones, Stone Sour, Taproot, Temple of the Dog, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Skinny Puppy, The Dust Brothers, Videodrone.Music I...dont like to say the least: My chemical Romance: I hate this gothy new punk shit. They are trendy and are played all over MTV yet people still claim that they arent trendy when everyone listens to them. Their lyrics are not only unoriginal but even moreso they rely not on making good music but rather making their songs catchy to entangle impressionable youth into their crap music.Nickleback: The lead singer looks like jesus. He cant sing and they havent taken a stance on whether they like women or not. On one song he denounced abuse towards women, and on another he demoralized women by making an ridiculous song about sex. Again, the lyrics contain no symbolic language and hold no message other than face value like many artists today. Creed: They ripped off Pearl Jam's singing style and made it christian. And im fine with christian bands, i have nothing against the but then they even alienated their fans by continually coming to shows drunk and falling asleep on stage or forgetting lyrics (which werent good in the first place) until they satrted being sued. Congrats you have no fan base. Panic! at the disco: I tend to not insult bands ive never heard of. Last night i looked these guys up and got a few of their songs and music videos and realized that a month ago Twiggy had showed my one of their music videos, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" i believe. They combine a style that The Killers used in one of their later music videos and also took some of the style of my chemical romance and turned it into the ultimate trendy music. I have to hate this band more than any other, i have never EVER actually felt teh emotion anger just because i heard a band i dont like until now. This band relies so heavily on making videos and music that post-pop teens will eat up that they have absolutly NO basis for anything their singing about, they have no original image! What more can i say. Dido: Jesus was this overplayed in the 90's. I had to hear all of her crap songs on the radio all the goddamn day. Seriously, i almost grew breasts from hearing her so much. Her voice sounds likea cat being strangled. While im at it i may as well say the same about jewel.Well im gonna wrap this up. All emo sucks because its all the same without any original thought and tries to hard to be catchy and focuses too heavily on their specific demographic. Rap sucks because after 1999 or so good rap and all the older stuff which is also good, started being relpaced with absolute shit like Lil' John and Sean Paul. Great sing some more about demoralizing women, and then watch as all these teenage girls love it. Then sing about how much drugs you have, what kind of ride you have, what rims on your car you have, and killing people, and you got a rap song. (clap hands) I could be a song writer. Old punk was good, sex pistols, bad religion, etc. New punk isnt punk, its punk/emo. Greenday is horrid and their whiny and their sellouts. Take a look at old punk, really sit down and listen to it. They stand for something, they stand for rebellion, and standing out, and revolution. They have an identity and a message to the world...what does new punk have to say?
American Beauty, Requiem for a Dream, American History X, Shawshank Redemption, East of Eden, Jacob's Ladder, The One Who Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest, 25th Hour, Annie Hall, Apocalypse Now, Citizen Kane, Mystic River, Boiler Room, Taxi Driver, Dirty Harry. I like alot of Drama's mostly because alot of them have real insight into our culture and what makes us human while also dealing with many trials and tribulations of adversity that comes with life.
T.V. is one of the worst uses of your time ever. The world would be such a better place if people could pry themselves off of their couch and from their precious MTV, "Pimp my Ride, or other various reality shows to actually do something with their lives. Mainstream television doesn't benefit anything and only aids in the progression of the loss of experiences in our lives that we will never be able to have again.
Anything by Kafka, Vonnegut, Steinbeck, Plato, or Dostoevsky. Namely, East of Eden, The Metamorphosis, Slaughterhouse Five, Apology, and Brave New World.
My original hero is Socrates and always has been. He lived his life to stand for his beliefs and died for them as well. He helped people find themselves and examine who they really are compared to that of who they think they are and in the end was executed for it. In this way I really look up to him. I also look up to any renegade throughout the ages because it was them who brought about progression and change.Emilie has always been my hero because through thick and thin she has loved me and I have loved her back. She and I have gone through so many hardships yet she still stands strong and supports me with her love. She tries her damndest to be a good person and in that very way she is a great one. She is the most special person in my life and always will be and I will never be afraid to say that.
