ABBREVIATED BIOGRAPHY
HEMI was formed in 2003 with the intention of bringing back the original sound of Heavy Metal music. Gathering influences from such bands as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, and Motorhead the band spent it’s developmental years writing material that would stand true to the sound they were trying to portray while giving it a feel for today’s generation of fans.Throughout several lineup and directional changes the band found it’s ideal members consisting of Trent Zuberi (Lead Vocals), Erik Alvarez (Lead Guitar), Kat Klueppel (Rhythm Guitar), David Alvarez (Bass Guitar/Backing Vocals), and Mike “Guppy” Cieplik (Drums and Percussion).Through countless efforts of promotion, advertising, and live performances HEMI has been able to garner a reputation and recognition as one of the premier featured bands in the Chicagoland area. With numerous headlining shows under their belt along with a strong fanbase, HEMI has been able to define a position for themselves as a serious and professional act hell bent on having their music heard by as many people as possible.With their efforts in recent years, HEMI has obtained mainstream attention with such radio and industry sources as Q101 Radio (101.1FM), Rebel Radio Chicago (1240AM), MTV2’s On the Rise program, MySpace Music (over 22,000 plays), and Producer Michael Wagener (Ozzy, Metallica, Dokken, Skid Row) who gave the bands early work very positive reviews.With the release of their debut album Fire in the Sky HEMI is one-step closer to bringing their music to the masses. Featuring such hits as “Last Regret”, “Dark”, “Battle of Britain”, and “The Leash”, the album is complete Heavy Metal aggression from start to finish. Released by the band in September of 2007, the album has been very well received by fans and critics alike obtaining exclusive distribution with Hot Topic stores across the country. It exemplifies the culmination of years of hard work and dedication by the band and proves why HEMI has persevered through anything that has been put in their path.With subsequent tours and promotion to follow, HEMI is dedicated to promoting their album and not only gaining more attention and popularity but also becoming major players in the industry.
