Family Bidnez

Family Bidnez first started singing together back in 1994. They put a four part harmony group together called the Fellas. The group recorded a couple of tracks and performed at a few shows, most notably the West Coast Apollo, but the other two members just couldn’t get it together. Family Bidnez was the only name that was right for this group. It is a perfect name because the name speaks for itself. Both Cuzo and K-Rod are related, the two are first cousins on their fathers side, and both take care of Bidnez to the fullest in every aspect of the game.Cuzo was born in San Leandro, California next to Oakland later moving to Hayward where he was raised. He began singing in elementary honor choir and from there he first started writing poems which evolved into writing songs. Cuzo kept on singing thru high school and into college going on tour with the Chabot College performance choir.It started in Oakland, California for K-Rod. He relocated to Kansas City for seven years then later moved back to the Bay in his early teens. Both Cuzo ..and K-Rod represent the Bay Area to the fullest. K-Rod started singing in the church choir at eleven years old. Also, K-Rod plays the drums and assists with production as well as songwriting.When asked what it is that they could bring to the music industry, Cuzo responds “It would have to be truth, truth in what we write if it’s based on a true story or something true from our souls”. K-Rod adds “We would say a different game, I mean not the same thing you hear all the time, not that it hasn’t worked for everyone else, but for us it is not what we were given to do.”Family Bidnez has been inspired by male artists like Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Carl Thomas, Musiq Soulchild, Tony Terry and Johnny Gill. As for female vocalists, Pattie Labelle, Regina Bell, Anita Baker, Mary J Blidge, and Whitney before Bobby. Being from the Bay Area, they would jump at the chance to work with E-40 because we feel we can connect with him on a music level and that we can bring whatever type of flavor expected.Family Bidnez has recently done shows with Digital Underground and Black Sheep. They are currently working with Quaze, from Snoop Dogg’s camp, and C.N.I. and C.O.S. from Brotha Lynch’s label Sicc Made Musicc to produce their current album. The album is being recorded at FM Studios (Tone Tony Toni and EnVouge’s studio), in Oakland California. Watch out for the Family Bidnez Album called “True Storiez” to be released later this year!
