Y2K? Because 1K wasn't enough!

About Me

I have a girlfriend and she is wonderful. And now onto the ramblings of a madman...take it away Crazy Past-Joey! I am a by-product of the enviroment and my DNA. My opinions are molded from what I hear and so far I don't like much that I hear. I do not believe in fate or destiny; I think everyone can do whatever they want but since we live in a society where the innocent are taken advantage of all the time, we as a society have created laws to govern ourselves. This goes against one of my beliefs: we are animals with imagination and in nature the strong survive and the weak do not reproduce. I know that seems harsh but humans are not special, we are part of the ecology of the universe but we do not control it. We can try to understand it all we want but never attain infinite wisdom.Us humans think we are so great that when we die we become immortal, because we were cursed with an imaginative brain that does not like to think that death is the end. Death being the end is too sad of a concept and life without purpose is too sad of a reality so we have invented spirituality, organized religion and theories of "Why are we here?". There is no answer to that question, we are simply living and dying like all species have done before us, unfortunatly we have concious thought that thinks we are meant for something more.Opinions on important issuses in this world do not create answers or solutions to end suffering, opinions only separate people. I could tell you my stance ..ion, the death penalty, war in Iraq, elections, legalizing drugs, and so on but they are feeble atempts. I like to look at both sides of the issue and so I am undecided on most things. I think (which doesn't really matter) that we should not be afraid of death and we should try to make our stay on Earth an enjoyable one. That means to me, easing the suffering of others and loving all things equally. I admit I am a hypocrite though, I am a carnavore and thus do not treat cows and chickens the same as I treat my brother but I haven't decided if I should change that. Animals in the wild eat eachother to survive, so we eat them, I think that is nature. However, animals do not shoot other animals for "fun" and then wear thier skins for fashion. The biggest problem I see in the world is pride. Pride is a dangerous thing, it leads to hate and greed and poverty and suffering. Read Siddhartha. I want to devote my life to easing the suffering of those who want it. I want to see the whole world and experience all I can. Here's some more blather...Do I believe in:God: Im in a transition now, the world is such an amazing place that it is hard to believe that it was random and not thought up by a higher being, but that is egotistical to think that a higher being made me and plants and seasons and time and space, cuz that says that I think that a human" type brain made everything, I think it was more of a nature type thing over billions of years that kept trying things until some of them stuck i.e. humans, animals, plants, I dig learning about how religion had its origins with primitive man, dreams, Osiris, Jesus, creation, evolution, I dont want to decide or have an opinion I want to learn more and never have a definite yes or no on the issue of God. Humans need answers and religion provides them, that stops the learning process though, read Siddhartha and take a world religion class, an anthropology of religion class and read Angels and Demons and the Jesus mysteries and about the Gnostics. I used to believe that God made evolution happen...meaning He put all things here like tools for nature to use and make everything...now i am of the belief that millions of diviants and random events in time made everything we see today. evolution is not linear but a series of trial and errrors on the part of nature that molded everything. we are seeing in our day and age a lot of "adapatation" NOT evolution. I think evolutionists sre mistaking the two and using it for thier side. creationists do the same thing. using radiohalos, they have discovered a rock that was formed from a volcanic eruption to have the same amount of uranium as a rock known to be 4 billion years old, a lot of creationists are using this to prove spontaneous generation; to prove that someting can be created in a matter of minutes, not the 6 billion years like evolutionsists sometimes belive it took the earth to form...I dunno if this theory is mine but i will say it anyway...adam and eve getting kicked out of the garden of eden cooresponds w/ science's idea of homo erectus. in Genisis we read that after man's expulsion, we were required to (1) work (2) grow our own food (3) have painful childbirth...that is the strory w/ homo erctus too, as early man started walking upright, we also started (1) working (using tools) (2) growing food (agriculture instead of a nomadic migrating species) (3) having painful childbirth (the shape of the pelvis had to chnage to walk in an upright manner, most primates walk on all fours and the pelvis is pointed downwards, now an upright person has the pelvis shifted up and out, not conducive to having a baby come out...)Some say that man "appeared" 10,000 years ago, because thats when civilization started (we have remnants of it, houses and tools and such), i disagree, that is magic...random events led the form we call 'man' to that point, why would a God who can do anything, make our bodies so complicated? why not have us have lungs and a tube where we can survive on water only. We can see animals all around us that have simplier and simplier body components all the way back to a single celled paramecium. obviously those animals are 'tests' for a bigger animal like us...as the world was forming animals for some reason have this 'will to survive' so as they died, nature had to think of better ways to keep them alive...the atmosphere was changing so our lungs got bigger and stronger, the vegeitation was not so good, so teeth necame able to eat meat, there was a lot of stimuli to hurt us so the nervous system became more advanced at detecting 'pain' and so on...6 billion years is plenty of time for things to change dramatially like that.Miracles: there is such a thing as amazing happenings, if they are supernaturally driven or not...No I dont think so, random events in a non-random habitat, everything that can happen is laid out in physics, anything contrary to physics is a delusion or a coincidence or a dream or a mutation.Love At First Sight: yes, but I think its more of connecting with a person, where you click, I have met people where I instantly get along with them in minutes time, some people, I just dont get and I avoid those people. Not because I hate them but because their way of thinking and life is new and scary to me.Ghosts: no, I think they are all imagined and/or dreamt.Aliens: yes I am positive there are other life forms, some have come here I am sure as well, the probability that we are alone in an INFINATE space is stupid.Soul Mates: most likely multiple soul mates, soul mate is a word in hindsight, when you marry someone you make it work, some flaws and some things are perfect, we call that a soul mate, the real definition would be a random stranger that you looked at and instantly knew all about and thought the same way, no one ever gets that, it has to evolvesome are halfway there to meeting each other but have to create the gap of stuff that doesnt match up during the relationship process.Heaven: noHell: no, why would a god who loves us unconditionally, create us in a world were we could disobey him and then PUNISH us for disobeying him, what a jerk god that would be, it would be like making a robot that runs on Kool-Aid and create it in a state that has no Kool-Aid and then beating the robot for wanting Kool-Aid! If god exists he lets you do whatever you want and if he doesn't like what you did, he wants you to stop but cant MAKE you stop, there is no punishment. Nature or a god created humans with wants and desires that are not good or bad they are just there, read Slaughterhouse 5, they are not judged because they are just existing, RELIGION capital R was created by people who need to govern other people, if you restrict some one of things that hurt them you get for a better run society, take away guns, drugs and crime and make sex a naughty thing and you get nice little blind sheep, its more of a power thing than a moral thing, on the other hand the religions that restricts you have good ideas, it CAN be bad to take drugs and have promiscuous sex and sex before marriage and kill others and steal, the consequences are there, but if you are smart you can live how you want and not do those things because you are making yourself not suffer and others around you not suffer, I think that is the point of life: decrease suffering, if heaven and hell didnt exist and you couldnt kill yourself, how would you make life worth living?, you would make it so the time on earth was pleasant right? So the people working today to decrease suffering are doing the RIGHT thing if you will. If you dont like that answer, well Jesus and Buddha said basically the same thing, do unto others.some people cant believe that we were just put here for nothing, that we were just evolved form other life forms, so they invented a way to bring us humans closer to the divine i.e. religionCheating: thats dumb, if you are uninterested in your partner say so and get out, or confess that you are uninterested and solve it, cheating is exciting but you are hurting someone on purpose who is innocent, by the way the hurting of the innocent is my big issue.Kissing on The First Date: sure, kissing is not so bad, enjoy the romantic moment, you will regret not living later.Horoscopes: those are crap, example I will go on a page right now and see my horoscope, but I will read the one for Gemini (Im a Sagittarius by the way) anything can be manipulated to your own life it's called projection: here we go: "Ideas are crackling off of your big brain like static electricity. Make sure you're not starting a million projects that other people are going to have to finish for you, though." Remember this was for Gemini and it fits perfectly with me right now! Also, I had one of those star charts done and it was pretty close to me but it could be anyone.
