Anyone. I love to meet new people and try new things. I refuse classification and make friends with all kinds of people. Although, in a small town in New England, it's generally the striaght, WASPY kind that one meets. (Not that its a bad thing. Some of my best friends are hetero-normative WASPY types.) In a guy, I'd like a good conversationalist. It simply isn't enough to look good, one must be good as well.
I like a wide variety of music. Madonna, Queen, Alanis, Benny Benassi, Hellogoodbye, for starters, but then the indie scene is fun too, so Sufjan Stevens, Bell & Sebastion, Stars, Rufus Wainwright, Of Montreal, its whatever. I like classic stuff too, like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Rosemary Clooney, Etta James etc.
I love movies that are well written, and which have interesting characters and plot. It simply isn't enough to be entertaining. Consequently, my tastes generally run to independent and foreign films.
My guilty pleasure is DH but my true love is Ugly Betty. The jokes about how shallow the fashion industry is, start to sound hollow after time, but the clothes are fun, and Betty is always clever. Monk too, because OCD is funny after all.
This semester's read is Anna Karenina. Tolstoy turns me on, but its taking forever, so I read Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "One Hundred Years of Solitude", "Democracy" by Joan Didion, and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer. Fabulous reads, all.
Tom Ford. c'est tres beaux.
