About Me

I am 28, and living in New York. Originally from California by the way of Arkansas; I have lived in New York for 3 years now and I am extremely happy. My Fiance, Marc, and I are getting Married on August 9th of 2008...I am SO excited!!! He is a Sergeant with the NYPD. He will be promoted to Lieutenant any time now...He's an amazing person, and I am unbelievably lucky to have met him. He is the reason I didn't completely lose my mind when I lost my brother in that insipid war in the big sandbox.I have a bachelor's degree in education/kinesiology from the University of Arkansas...Go Hogs! I love sports and travel. I love meeting new people and just being social in general. In the past few years I have really learned just how much my family and friends mean to me. I miss living in Manhattan. I miss the country. I want the best of both worlds. Get your layout at Myspace Layouts

My Interests

Reading, theater (it's New York; gotta take advantage of Broadway!) musicals, So far, I've seen Wicked, Rent, Aida, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Democracy, Spamalot, The Little Mermaid & Legally Blonde. I can't wait to see Phantom of the Opera, and Les Miserables. Broadway shows are so amazing!! Driving, travel, photography, shopping, sleeping, meeting new people...I've lately become obsessed with taking a trip to the Mediterranean...I desperately NEED to go to Greece and Tuscany. I don't know what brought it on, but I feel an innate need to be there.

I'd like to meet:

I want to reconnect with people I have known for years and meet new and interesting people. I'm really outgoing and have never met a stranger; that's not to say I haven't met strange people however. I am enjoying getting back in touch with old friends I had lost contact with over the years.

Music:

Everything. Literally. I grew up on country, love hard rock, metal, some hip hop, classical, soundtracks...The list is endless. A few favorites: George Strait, Hinder,Snow Patrol, Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray, Dixie Chicks, Outkast, Billy Joel, Handel, Josh Groban, Charlie Robison, Faith Hill, Metallica, Keith Whitley...

Movies:

Braveheart, The Shawshank Redemption, Knocked Up, Transformers, We are Marshall, Big Fish, The Abyss, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Notebook, James Bond movies (guilty pleasure), Doc Hollywood, Hoosiers, Rudy, The Man in the Moon, Legends of the Fall, The Natural, Wedding Crashers, In Her Shoes, Pretty Woman,...again, a limitless list.

Television:

I am completely and totally addicted to HGTV. I can't wait to renovate! Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Friends, Sex and the City, Family Guy, Law and Order SVU, I don't watch reality t.v...whose reality is that anyway??

Books:

Wicked, The da Vinci Code, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Mirror Mirror, Son of a Witch, Marley and Me, Angels and Demons, The Notebook, Dear John, Madame Bovary, Dante's Inferno, The City of Falling Angels, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Alchemist, Lone Survivor, Blood on the Risers, Water for Elephants, The Choice, The Reincarnationist, Blonde Theory, The Serpent's Tale, Digital Fortress, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...I love to read and do so at an alarming rate.

Heroes:

My brother, Justin, may he forever rest in peace. He was a staff sergeant in the army and gave his life trying to save another soldier in Iraq on March 5, 2007. My world will never be the same. I love and miss him so much. My mom: She worked so hard to support my family and never once missed a basketball game or anything that either Justin or I was involved in playing. She commutes 100 miles each way to work, and has done so for 17 years now. I respect her and love her, and consider her a friend.
