I believe in the role of composer as researcher...I'm interested in new ways in which sound can be manipulated and can be organized into aesthetically pleasing forms . My current research involves the use of biological models in musical composition. Before coming to serious music I studied Physical sciences at the University of Alberta, specializing in genetics. As well, during my studies I moonlighted as an acid-techno DJ.I've also had the unique opportunity to work at the Cantos Music Foundation in Calgary where I served as an interpreter of their musical instruments as well as spent summers creating audio and literary documentation of their collection.I'm now based in Montreal, finishing my master's degree at McGill university where I have been influenced by discussions in psychoacoustics, and the interaction between acoustic and digital mediums. I also write music for contemporary dance and have written for the Merce Cunningham Faculty School, Ephemeral Industry, as well as various other choreographers in Montreal, New York, and Calgary. In my spare time I practice Ashtanga Yoga and can be found wandering Mt. Royal. Please also check my reverbnation site for more music:
