Got a tune out, co-wrote with a friend, Julie Gribble, www.juliegribble.com it's on her latest CD release, "Damn Me", is the tune. Check it out. She's real good. And a fine Lady at that. My sista. That's me doin some slide guitar on Jim Bianco's tune called " Down Town". It's on his third CD release. www.jimbianco.com Check it out. He puts it to it, throws it down hard, and a good Dog at that, and Brotha. Keep an eye open for my Brothas' CDUCK and Nates' new CD, www.c.duckandnate.com To be Released soon. They are as pure as water runnin down a high mountain streem. Great stuff as always. OK, and more about me, there's abook comin out soon, called Rock and rolls last stand on the SunSet Strip, written by Domenic Peori www.DomenicPeori.com ,when the clubs were owned by enterprizeing Gentlemen from the old country. Before corporations,Then at wich point you didn,t know the owners name. Domenic Is an Author and music historian and even more talented in many ways. check him out. The years 1965-1966, Magical Times, the 60's they were. I was in The Band, no not Thee Band, they came along later and i don't need ta tell anyone about those guys. Gret Great stuff indeed. Their music was, is and forever shall be with us. Bless them all. We the band played Pandoras Box, The Seawitch, The Hullabaloo, up and down and all around. Domenic has photos of us and an interview with me. Yes i am a couple a hundred years in the making, must be the vampire thing ------- still lookin good. That was when the Buffallo springfield was being born, boom from the gate they were great. Can ya believe it , they were the house band at the whisky. Anywhere they played, you were in there living room, at home hospitality. Live gigs, i can't put into words how great they were. And still all are, in different incarnations. The original Five Byrds, flew oh so high, and then they were four.etc. etc. Magic to have wittnesed. Robin Hoods crew came out of the woods to the old Ciro's on the strip ta catch their shows, now it's the comedy store. There was a blues band called the doors, playing the clubs. Canned Heat, Spirit, played Pandoras, all of us after just playin a couple of years, Magic was in the air. Captain Beefheart with Ry cooder was gigin the clubs also. And don't get me started right now on the club called The Experience. You could catch Hendrix blowin with Delany And Bonnie, Buddy miles Express, before Band of Gypsys. And Sittin in with Love, You know Arthur Lee's First band. Albert Colins, Albert King, The electric Flag, Michael Bloomfied, when he played live, he made me tear up, people should know and respect that man , records just dont tell the whole story. And Him With Alvin Bishop with -- The Paul ButterField Blues band, live at the trip, Was church in session. San fransico, had a whole lot to offer, very great bands. The Airaplane in Griffith Park playing for free, records don't tell that story either, Great Great band. Folk and country music was all melting together with rock and jazz, turn'n up the electric guitars and the groove was on. The Dead ,shape shifted everything and everyone. And continued beyound time for more years then we thought we would even have lived. Cream at the Whisky for $2.50, four nights in a row, on their first U.S. tour, all three full of fire and lovin it. Most folks just don't know what they were and are about, shame. They did make history, walkin down the side walk, the hill, guitars and sticks in hand right infront of you, to what was the door on the corner to the stage and Boom the worlds first trio melting the blues and jazz down into Cream, -- of the crop, in a very small club, The Whisky, they were on Fire, Amen. Don't forget that was the spot for the Motown sound, and we can't ever forget what they all layed down there, moments before everything busted loose.Major sound that still lives on, but that was the prime of it all, that fat bottom grove, with those vocals harmonizing, made history. Janis Joplin blew those walls down, single handedly. And Mobey Grape came down from S.F. and blew real hard, harmonies, toes at the edge of the stage, and Bob Mosely just makin that P-Bass do exactly what it is suppose to do. The Mammas and Pappas flew into L.A. mid 60's from N Y., Magic Magic, The Laurel Canyon Scene- music and love truely was in the air.--- The Sunset strip ,from the whisky a go go, Yes with bikini clad hot babes hang'n in cages from the ceiling, groov'n to the music, down to the Hullabaloo, across, from the Paladium, the Strip was filled with people, the sidewalks filled with people, music, free love, yes free love, the world was changeing before our eyes, time moved much slower then, and we all played Hey Joe Really fast, everyone, --- Then you know who jumped into the ring and blew everyone away, i mean everyone --- Jimi is still with us, dig it. Amen Amen I'd like to give a shout out to Denny Doherty, The best Tenor to have ever lived, - in my book. Even after the Mamms and Pappas he continued to sing, that smile, and telling those great stories, he did oh so well. What a voice, what a Man. I was blessed to have known him, and to have been touched by his magic, playing music with him in the Canyon when Time stood still. Denny passed on this last January, in between Gig dates, still, still singin and love'n it. He always sang Monday Monday from the heart, and was layed to rest on a monday. Amen Amen Peace Good Brotha.I will tell you this, from the 60's at the Shrine, when they first blew my mind to a couple of weeks ago, the Chambers Brothers are still put'n out their love, Those God given vocals, and there own fat deep groove the way they do. Keep your eyes and ears open for them. There gonna be with us for many more years. They got that huge love'n family, and every one of them lives very long lives, like Moses himself, Biblical they are. People get Ready! www.chambersbrothersreunited.com Later for now
