About Me

ABOUT:In her own little world, Melanie Driscoll would close her eyes and turn up the music until all of her troubles were drowned out: “so this is what happiness is made of,” she thought—and what a magical feeling that was. Once Melanie learned she could put together a few chords and create her own magic in a song, she fell under music’s lovely spell. Born in Stoneham and raised in Tewksbury, Ma. , singer/songwriter, Melanie Driscoll, has always been deeply involved in creating art—especially when it comes to music. After many years of putting pen to paper, pouring her heart out in literary magazines, town and high school newspapers, and various personal journals, Melanie Driscoll decided to put those emotions to music. At the age of 16 she was inspired by female musicians such as Jewel, Tori Amos, and Tanya Donnelly; and from that point on, the guitar became the perfect tool: it became her greatest companion. Melanie’s songs have been compared to artists such as: Kay Hanley, Patty Griffin, Jewel and Avril Lavigne. “Melanie writes some of the catchiest tunes out there. They get stuck in your head for days”, says Melvern Taylor of the well know Lowell based Folk/Americana band Melvern Taylor and his Fabulous Meltones—and that’s just it—Melanie won’t write a song unless it has the ability to get stuck in your head and haunt you pleasantly for days. She has just recently released her 3 song demo: Could it Be? In February of 2008, and is currently working on her full length album at Wonka Sound Recording Studio in Lowell, Ma. With producer/engineer Bob Nash.********************************************************** "IN THIS WORLD OF DRIVELED LYRICS AND COPYCAT MELODY, MEL D.
