like The Hippy Nuts' release " Hardcore Mellowdriven" We've also been told we sound
like The Stones, or Bonnie and Delaney or Curtis Mayfield, or Dave Mason or Burt Bacharach or The Black Crowes... but these comparisons are because of our various types
of songs. We like to rock out, funk it up, then get dreamy and melodic and downright 60's
pop. As for our actual sound, we have a traditional analog sound with classic gear, guitars, amps, and effects. The vocals are soulful twangy and quirky. We've been told that by the time we put all of our passion and influences together we sound distinctive.
We hope that's true....
Alan Pepper who booked us at the
sorely missed The Bottom Line said that he'd booked alot of female singers but none of them sounded like Kathena.
