If he is to stay on defense, he would be a centerfielder type who is at his best keying the quarterback in zone coverage and coming forward to make plays. He is a serious vertical threat as a wide receiver, and we feel this may be his most natural fit. He is explosive for his size and can get over the top of defensive backs in a hurry. He has very good hands and long arms. Can extend to snag balls thrown outside of his frame and shows outstanding body control on contested balls and jump ball match-ups. Times jumps well and can adjust to poorly thrown balls to make acrobatic catches. He is elusive after the catch, shows surprising suddenness in space and can make people miss. Shows good burst after the catch to get upfield. Huge red-zone threat because of height and strength. On defense, he flashes big-play ability but doesn't come up near the line of scrimmage as much as you would expect for a player his size. He has upside as an intimidating presence in the middle of the field and shows good range in coverage to get from sideline to sideline. He will club up and insert at the point of attack against the run but is also a drag-down tackler. There is no questioning his tools, measurables and athleticism, but he is raw. Needs polish and structure as a route runner on offense. Must improve recognition skills on defense, can take false steps and needs to diagnose quicker. Probably don't want him in a lot of man coverage situations versus wide receivers, but he can certainly handle tight ends and some running backs.
