CHECK OUT WWW.MYSPACE.COM/INFINITE DETOUR
Hello there, this is Sonni. She is a writer, performer, and musician working and living in the center of Philadelphia and on the coast of the Jersey Shore. She has been performing live shows for a little over 4 years, in venues of all shapes and sizes. She goes to Drexel University, where she is currently in the process of changing her major, more disgruntled with "the music business" and more content just playing music. Mainly she spends time writing and playing in reggae-punk band Infinite Detour, and has been doing so for about three years. On the side, she is a singer-songwriter.
Here are her songs, heavily influenced by the ideals and styles of old school punk and early roots reggae, and inspired by the truthful simplicity and "raw" storytelling of folk music. She has released one record, "Free" on her own, made in 2006, and is about to release another 10-song collection independently in April of 2009, entitled "Underwater Sounds." Also to follow are a new release from Infinite Detour, entitled "...On We Go," following 2007's "Pterodactyl Knife Fight." Look for these soon at their shows.
In the past she has worked with and sung for bands of all genres... Philly groups such as LP Stiles, Daga and the Rockers Band, In Clover, Lee G and Delon, and NJ/NY groups like The Predator Dub Assassins, Tommi Infamous, The UpSessions, Ron Santee, Mash McClain, Tourmaline and more.
She can be seen playing around town in Philly, frequently at Late Night Series open mic night and as host of an open mic on UPenn's campus...she has also appeared at The Khyber, The Fire, the 941 Theater, Paul Green's School of Rock, and J.C. Dobbs.
In Jersey and New York, she has frequented The Stone Pony, The Knitting Factory, The Twisted Tree Cafe, The Saint, Asbury Lanes, S.I.C.A., and Espresso Joe's, and has had the privilege to play twice at Brookdale Community College's Guitar Show.
