Eric French and Mr. Hyde is a Boston, MA/ Providence, RI based group with unique songs and a dual personality. Its members hail from Providence, Iowa City, & Newcastle, forming an exciting trio of electric or acoustic pop/ rock with blues sentiment, funk bottom, and a tasteful display of the talent each of the three possess for their instruments. Formed in 2006, its three members have played together in various cover bands and for various local Boston artists for a few years.
Headed up by Eric French, the band turns his insightful songwriting into smart blasts of pop spearheaded by his characteristic bright tenor and guitar-work. Their electric side is like a freight train engulfed in flame careening down a mountain balanced on one rail spitting and pissing sexy rock songs to the masses. Their acoustic side is a more reflective display of adorably bittersweet love, philosophical self-realization, and flavored breadcrumb shakers. Two different sets of songs, two great shows.
Currently production on the self-titled electric LP is in full swing for release in early 2008 to be followed by supporting club and college dates in the Northeast.
