About Me

Heather Vorwerck: Professional cellist in San Francisco; I'm a member of the band The Comeuppance and Quartet Opabinia - I play and teach regularly around the Bay Area. I also play baroque cello and viola da gamba. I've played with early music ensembles Apollo's Fire (www.apollosfire.org), Galileo Project. I appear on recordings for Apollo's Fire, Maxwell's Demon, The Televangelist and The Architect, and Fred Frith (at Mills College). I'm a grad of Oberlin Conservatory, Mills College and attended the Royal Conservatory at the Hague. I teach cello and chamber music in San Francisco and San Ramon. Sounds Like: Cello! Accoustic and amplified. In Early Music Land, I play on gut strings for both cello and gamba.
