About Me

Hey, thanks for stopping by my page!
If you've got the time, read all about me...
if not...enjoy the pictures!
:]
Since 2004 my life has been pretty darn interesting. Between all of theses hurricanes and the Global War on Terrorism I've managed to stay sane... then again, I doubt my family and friends would agree on me being too sane.
;]
Anyway, I've been fortunate enough to continue to do what I love, and that's running. Unfortunately, I've been plagued with injury since January of 2006. I can't complain though because life is good and I'm getting the great opportunity to do what I want. God has blessed me with the gift of athletism and endurance and I intend on using it to the best of my ability.
In August of 2001 I started running cross country for Palmetto High School, just before my 16th birthday. That's in Palmetto, Florida by the way. Anyway, I ran cross country for PHS for 3 years but never ran high school track. Now, I'm a semi-professional runner currently residing in Colorado and training at the Colorado Center for Altitude Training and Performance. I run really long races and sometimes I attempt to run through the woods, across golf courses, and up hills as fast as I can without getting beat by too many people.
I'll also be running in circles on a track in 2007 for the first time, too!
I know, I know, who wants to do all of that? Well, I think it's awesome and I get to travel a bit and meet some cool people.
I'm a very open minded and caring person and I respect peoples' views and opinions, even if I don't agree with them. It's sometimes hard to do but things would be nice if everyone tried. I really love helping people and volunteering. By the time I was 17 I had well over 4,000 community service hours and now I don't even bother to keep track. I've run numerous races for charity and I've spent many thanksgivings and Christmas' at local shelters feeding the hungry. I think one of the greatest feelings ever is to know you've helped someone in need. I love smiling and I love to see others smile. You never know who's day you can change just by saying hello or showing a friendly smile.
:]
For some reason people make a big deal and freak out about this when I tell them but here it goes...I've been a vegetarian since I was about 12years old. My diet and views on vegetarianism have had some changes since that time but I'm pretty happy and comfortable with my decisions on eating. I really love seafood though and have continued eating fish and all of that good stuff that comes out of the ocean. I've also got a really bad Taco Bell addiction...hey, just because I'm a runner dosn't mean I can't eat fast food! That Cheesy Bean & Rice burrito is amazing...especially if it's grilled!
Anyway, I'm adopted and have the most amazing and caring parents and I'm very closely attached to them. I also have some really great mentors in my life and I wouldn't be where I am now without them.
I've spent about 7 years of my life in military cadet programs, so from 12 to 19 years old that's what I devoted most of my time to. You may think that sucks but I loved every bit of it and I actually do miss it. I've got to do some pretty sweet stuff and I'd say I've learned alot of things that I never would have learned without cadet programs. Now that I don't spend long afternoons throwing around rifles, practicing marksmanship, and running around with a ruck sack on my back I just chill and hang out with friends, play video games, and run. I also LOVE the outdoors!!!
Camping, kayaking, hiking, and especially horseback riding are probably my number one pass time.
When I'm home in Florida I spend alot of time at the barn with my horses. They are amazing animals and riding bareback 45mph down a dirt road in parrish is probably one of my favorite things to do! I'd say I love riding as much as I love running. I think it's funny that everyone tells me I should be a jockey because of my size but I think I'll just stick with barrels...not that I'm any good at that or anything.
Next to horse back riding I love flying...single engine aircraft that is. Aviation in general just amazes me and I love the history that goes with it. As an Air Force cadet I had to study Aerospace Education and aviation history so I guess I grew a love and interest for it. Parachuting is pretty awesome, too! I don't know why but I think I enjoy it a bit more than skydiving, and yes, there is a difference between parachuting and skydiving! :]
I have the most amazing friends and when I'm not jumping out of planes or running I love going to local shows and just chilling at parties with them. I don't smoke or drink but from what everyone says I'm normally the loudest, most energetic, and the first person to pass out. Everyone that I've met over the past year, you're truely amazing people! Tweety, Denson, Cain, and everyone who stuck by me through Afghanistan, I love you guys!!! You're all amazing people and I've not forgot about ya!!!

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

My Interests

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2 (NIV)

I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him:
Im ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I dont accept His claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse.
You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher.
He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.
