Cheo is a self evolved artist. He began his journey as an airbrush artist in 1985. He painted colorful cultural and abstract designs on tee shirts and garments, Cheo developed a wearable art line. He marketed the line in Atlanta and NYC.Cheo’s work was featured on the cover of The Source magazine in 1989.He was a featured designer in the first National Black Arts festival fashion show in 1988. Cheo’s wearable art has been purchased by Caron Wheeler, Wumni, Mechelle Nd Chello, Living Color, Jungle Brothers, DJ Ron Trent, DJ Francois Kevorkian, DJ Ted Patterson and others.He was the featured artist at former Club Shelter in the summer of 1989, He was commissioned to paint several backdrops and design vignettes for theme parties. He has painted backdrops, designed television sets and worked on music video sets. Cheo worked in the art department on the film Drop Squad. His art was also featured in the movie.Cheo has created props and designed sets for music videos for artists Cameo (Slide video), Arrested Development (Mr. Wendell video), Da Bratt (Givin it to ya video). He has mastered computer graphics skills, web development, and design consulting for commercial and residential environments.Cheo started experimenting with traditional paint brushes and other mediums in 1990. For the past 18 years he has developed his skills and techniques to define his style. His works today infuse bold images and symbols reflecting his love and appreciation of African culture and symbolism while maintaining a flair for the contemporary.
