I am here for Friends

About Me

In a freak metal working accident, I was encompassed by molten steel. Slowly the steel replaced my bones and flesh and I became pure energy. I was everywhere at once. Looking for a way to reign my electrons back into their orbitals, I came across the Metalomonicon. It was an ancient text which described in detail how my electrons, which had become incorporated into everything and everyone, could be brought back together and placed inside of a metal shell. Becoming more and more aware of myself, my electrons drew closer. Once enough of my electrical spirit had formed, I was able to inhabit the mind of a small but remarkable farmer named Maynard on the distant edge of the globe. I influenced his mind to make the suit of metal that would eventually hold me. Forged in the fires of Azgaroth, my shell was formed! The last stage as explained in the Metalomonicon was to create an electrical force that would kill the farmer but align my electrons through the magnetic field that occurs as a result of electrocution. I wept because I had grown to love the farmer. I knew what had to be done. Influencing the farmer to kill himself was the hardest part. I knew in my heart of hearts if only I placed another large magnet at a right angle to the direction of the field that I could still align myself whilst negating the electrical field that would fry Maynard's brain. Unforunately, I was wrong. Maynard fell to the ground. He gave his life for mine. Now, in my metal suit I am known as the Chartreuse Goblin. I have since forged a flexible steel alloy which simulates skin and have made my mild mannered house-husband body form. I am known as Donnie America during the days and at night I seek to protect people like Maynard until my dept is repaid!

So the other day I was sitting on a bench on Ho Plaza at Cornell. Just sitting and observing people as one does. As I sat there and saw the slew of students, some frat boys, sorority girls, nerds, and...

laundry

I haven't been to a laundromat in years. It seems that the last time was when we lived at JPUSA in Chicago. I had to fight off all of the people who wanted my time slot or who felt like I was infringi...

This morning

It was 7:30am. I was walking down a little known path in Cornell's Plantations. I happened upon a young buck eating some of the tender grasses that haven't been withered by the autumn cold. At first I...

Right or Left handed?

I am left handed. Have been all my life. That automatically puts me at a disadvantage for some reason. I couldn't find a baseball mit when I was a kid at a regular store. I had to go to the spor...

The Falconer

I'm aware that this will sound fantastic, perhaps even insane. But here is what happened. There was a hawk flying the other day and it was making a noise as if it had been hurt or was in distress. I c...

Today started bad. I woke up and checked the news and lo and behold my literary hero and fellow Cornellian Kurt Vonnegut Jr. had died.  I am not a scholar of literature, but I do consider myself ...
