Songwriting has always been like therapy to me. I write because I have to. It keeps me alive and sane. Music is beautiful because it is window to someone's soul and a snapshot of how they felt in that particular moment in their life. It's also relative. I've never wanted to tell people in detail what the songs I write are about, because I feel that it takes away the significance of what songwriting is all about. It takes away the freedom of being able to completely relate it to your life. My favorite songs in the world are the ones I would hear and say to myself, "This song HAD to be written for me." That is really my mission as a songwriter... not to be largely famous... not to make millions of dollars... but to connect with other people and give them a piece of my life whether good or bad. ..
