STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Justin Mulligan rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns as Tottenville HS won the Staten Island PSAL JV football championship for a second straight year with a 20-0 win over host Curtis yesterday in St. George.A late-arriving bus left the Pirates with little time to warm up for the contest, but they showed no ill effects on the opening series, driving 70 yards and taking a 6-0 lead on Mulligan's 30-yard TD scamper.AdvertisementIn the second quarter, a blocked punt set up Mulligan's 4-yard TD run four plays later. Joe Feaser followed with a conversion pass to Joe O'Donohue and Tottenville led 14-0.On the ensuing series, one of Lou Calcaterra's three sacks in the game forced a fumble that teammate Kent Dominicci recovered and returned for a 42-yard touchdown and 20-0 halftime lead. There was no scoring after the intermission, but the Tottenville defense -- led by linemen Joe Ianno, Joe Scelzo and Jessie Zaffuto, and linebackers Chris Froehlick and Brian McGlyn -- continued its domination, holding Warriors' star running back Andy McCoy in check throughout.Alfonso Cataldi rushed for 75 yards and recovered a fumble for Tottenville, while Dominicci added an interception to his defensive TD.Tottenville (9-2), which defeated New Dorp 18-0 in last year's JV title tilt, avenged a 14-6 loss to Curtis in the regular season."The difference today was that we didn't turn it over. In that first meeting, we had a 6-0 lead, but had an interception and fumble late in the game that led to the loss," said Pirates coach Bob Bramble.
