My interests are photography, music, movies. These all involve the creative and artistic expression of humankind. I enjoy both the creation of all of these and the enjoyment of what others have created. (Okay, I cannot touch the mastery of commercial filmakers or musicians or photographers - but it is still fun to try my own hand at it anyhow.)
I would most like to have been able to meet Ansel Adams , probably the most revered photographer to have ever walked the planet. And I would also like to meet Scott Kelby (still among the living!) who is a great Photoshop guru, just so he could teach me some new tricks. (Scott is a great photographer too. See his own portfolio .)
Music is great to accompany almost every activity. But not24x7 - some peace and quiet now and then is "golden!" There shouldbe time in every person's daily life to reflect (quietly) on theday's activities, see what may have gone wrong and how to correct it,ponder the meaning of life and your place in it, think aboutopportunities you may have had to help another human being on earthwhen they were down. Those sorts of things.
Christian Music
Christian Radio
In the Christian music realm, there are at least two excellent onlineradio stations I have come across. In no particular order - K-LOVE and Bigloo Radio .(If anyone knows of others, please let me know! Air1.com is anotherstation, but it isn't always online, apparently.)
Buying Christian Music
There is a nice guide to Christian & Gospel on Amazon.com .Christianbook.com also has a nice, and extensive,Christian Musicsection.
Secular Music
The following are my favorite genres in the secular realm. Click onthe links to go to Wikipedia explanations of these genres ofmusic.
1.) Electronica
2.) Classic rock
3.) Progressive rock
4.) Celtic music
In case you thought "Electronica" was just "Trance" music, click here .
Electronica
Anyone new to Electronica must understand that a lot of electronica"groups" may consist of just one or two people who are good withsynth or rhythm machines or some other music making instrument. Theywill often bring in guest vocalists and sometimes they will bring indifferent guest vocalists on every album they produce. Usually theseguest vocalists are women with distinctive voices.Tina Dico
One such guest vocalist is Tina Dico, best known for hercollaboration with the English duo Zero 7 on their secondalbum, When It Falls.
Though Tina had a guest collaboration with the Electronica group Zero7, her own music is classed by Amazon.com as "Adult Alternative."But seeing as I don't have an entry for that genre, I'll place herhere for now. Amazon.com classes a lot of Electronica groups asAdult Alternative - even though they DO have their own music categoryof Electronica. In this case, I wouldn't classify Tina's music asElectronica but as Vocal Pop or maybe as Singer Songwriter (two otherAmazon.com music categories).

Zero 7
Zero 7 is, in my opinion, the premier Electronica group. Classed asdowntempo style (a category within the Electronica genre) byWikipedia, Zero 7 is two lads from Britain - Henry Binns and SamHardaker.
Clickhere for more on Zero 7 in Wikipedia.
Click here forZero 7's official Internet site. On their built-in player, go to thetrack labelled Home and you'll hear some of the finestelectronica to be found anywhere. (They even have a cool trumpetaccompaniment!)
The following track, Destiny is full of wonderful spacey synth(a hallmark of a lot of Electronica) and dreamy female vocalizations(another hallmark of Electronica) provided by Sia.
(Be sure to allow for plenty of time for each music selection toload on their play. I suggest letting it play on automatic mode soyou can sample everything listed.)

Secular Radio
As a plug for my favorite (secular) online radio station - pleasegive RadioParadise a try. It is 100% listener-supported (no ads). And if you enjoy it, think about helping thestation out by becoming a
supporting listener .
I guarantee that you'll find a ton of music you like that you havenever heard of before on RadioParadise! There is a forum section foreach song for leaving comments about the music being played, which isa lot of fun. ( Click here for anexample .) Listeners have formed a great community of musiclovers online!
Alternately, another good way of listening to music online is via Live365 . Live 365 is actually a collection of individual "radiostations" throughout the world "broadcasting" through the internetusing Live 365 software and servers.
These broadcasters may be private individual or corporations or evenactual, radio-based broadcasters. The nice thing about Live 365 isthe way they neatly categorize and group all of their stations bygenre. You do need to download their own player.
When you become a more sophisticated Live 365 member, you can pipethe music through Windows Media Player so you can use WMP's equalizerto make the music sound really great.
Rhapsody
Finally, one more plug - for a very new music listening servicecalled Rhapsody. I was looking not for a streaming radioservice but for a service that has many music artists and studiossigned up to them - with legal distribution rights. These web sitesusually allow you to not only listen to the music you like best whileon a computer, but also allow you to download and carry the musicaround on a portable music player.
Besides Rhapsody other music services include iTunes, using a web-based iTunes online player and iPod players for offlinelistening, MTV's Urge, paired with Microsoft's Windows MediaPlayer for online listening and a multitude of players for offlinelistening (iRiver Clix, Creative ZEN Vision:M, SanDisk Sansa e200 andToshiba Gigabeat) and Microsoft's own Zune service with, Iassume, Windows Media Player for online listening and a dedicatedZune player for offline listening.
I have tried all of these music services (except for Zune) and havesettled on Rhapsody for one reason. With Rhapsody you can createyour own online streaming music radio-style channels based on yourown music preferences. You just create a new channel, load it upwith the artists you like, and then that channel will play not onlymusic from the artists you added, but from similar artists also.
There are a bunch of channels already on Rhapsody too - Rock/Pop,Alternative/Punk, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Country, Jazz,Electronica/Dance, Latin, World/Reggae, Classical, Oldies, New Age,Christian/Gospel, Blues, Folk, Vocal/Easy Listening,Soundtracks/Musicals, Children, Comedy/Spoken Word, Talk, News,Sports, Public.
What else could possibly be covered? NOTHING! It is all there! Each of the categories listed above each have sub-categories too. Ifyou click on Jazz, you get the choices of: Acid Jazz, Bossa Nova,Frank's World (Frank Sintra and swing), Instrumental Grooves, Jam andBeyond, Jazz Niteclub, Jazz Vocal Standards, Jass: Cool and Hot,Mardi Gras and Smooth Jazz.
Finally, the offline mobile player will not only load itself withmusic you have selected online, but it also loads itself with thechannels you have created - so even offline you will be able tolisten to streams of music with not only your selected artists butmusic from similar artists also.
This is a great way to listen to artists you have never heard beforebut which you might really like once you do hear them. (Of course, you can also rip music from CDs you already own into the onlineRhapsody player and then download all those onto the mobile Rhapsodyplayer.)
If you want to subscribe, you can either subscribe to the online-onlyversion for just $10 a month, or you can subscribe to Rhapsody To Go,which is their version that downloads music onto the mobile player.

I like adventure, drama, sci-fi and even comedy-romance movies. Since I love photography, an art that specifically focuses on the visual aspect of life, you could probably easily guess that I also like movies and television shows with stunning visual effects. The movie shown below was panned by the critics, but it has VERY cool visual effects.
Æon Flux (2005) has to be the coolest Sci-Fi out there at the moment!!!
Charlize Theron was very effective, very athletic and very beautiful in the film, but perhaps just a little tool cool in the role. I'm thinking Jennifer Garner would have brought a bit more realistic energy to the screen.

I know much of the "technology" shown in the television episodes isn't real - but it all looks very cool anyhow!

NCIS
Great interaction of personalities on this show!
