About Me

I’m an artist and an engineer (for real - I have a studio in my basement and I have a degree in Engineering which I used to go into sales with). I’m a dreamer with well-grounded feet. I have a big boy job and have always been responsible but I often romanticize about living like a nomad. I’m an old soul with youthful optimism. I obey the rules that make sense. I wish all of my friends were a bike ride away.

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

I like to working with my hands be it construction projects, sculpture, sports, massage, etc. Love to ski and I've been lucky enough to make it out west with good friends on a yearly basis. Grew up playing tennis, swimming, hockey, volleyball, kayaking, water skiing, ultimate Frisbee, sailing, ping-pong, pool, "No-Friend-O", etc. I still enjoy all of these things but now that life as an adult has take hold, time for these activities is limited. I like bars that I can do something in, dance, karake, play pool, ping pong (I know a place..). I like simple food - a well-made sandwich with fresh bread is my favorite cuisine. Nirvana for me is cuddling by a campfire under stars in the fall (before and after).

I'd like to meet:

Thomas Friedman, Leonardo DaVinci, Dean Kamen, Aberham Lincoln, the Indigo Girls,...

Music:

Favorites: Simon & Garfunkel, Indigo Girls, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Otis Redding, Johny Cash, Ryan Adams, Billy Joel, O.A.R. Like all kinds of music and I'd have a hard time naming one type of music I didn't at least like a few artists.

Movies:

Best all round movie: "The Prince's Bride". It's a Great love story, has well choreographed action, it's hilarious, the cast is great, it appeals to both sexes and all ages, more quality one liners than any movie in history.

Television:

I don't watch a lot of TV but I enjoy watching a few programs when I get a chance. "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is hilarious. I like "How I Met Your Mother". Smallville is a guilty pleasure. Scrubs, hospital dramas, Seinfeld and Friends reruns. The Daily Show (the best news on TV). Drawing a blank on more...?

Books:

"The World is Flat" - very insightful; very motivating. "Sex, drugs, and Coco Puffs" - entertaining and mentally exhausting. "Being Good" - a good argument for ethical objectivism; easy intro to ethics. "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" - only book I've read that made me tear-up; great story. "The Good Earth" - the only high school force-feed book I enjoyed. I liked it so much I read the trilogy "Sons" and "A Land Divided". I like to read but the only time I do is when I fly.

Heroes:

My parent is some ways; all parents to some extent. I few of my close friends for their virtue, passion, intelligence, loyalty, humor. My brothers.

Me As Sculpture

The sculpture of the weathered roots with 'new, weathed roots' was first created to symbolize a lost love.  I have a wonderful poem that goes along with it; maybe someday I'll share.  As mos...
